Speak Out Spew Off...
Brewers!?!?! I haven't been to a Brewers game since Robin Yount and Paul Molitor and Cecil Cooper, who by the way, tipped a foul ball up to the 3rd deck behind home plate in the old stadium, that I caught with my bare hand!
Finally, TCB has promised us a season ending 'Me and Mr. Walker' article. Rumor has it that it's gotten to manifesto length. We anxiously await. Go Pack!

Well, well, well... Things are looking up!
After the disasterous wild-card exit, the refurb in the coaching ranks is shaping up quite nicely. Bates should bring in a few of his guys and Edgar Bennet finally gets the RB coaching job. Now if they do the right thing and make Lionel Washington the DB coach, things will be all fixed up for next season.
Ya gotta like Bates addressing the tackling situation head-on. It's great to hear someone say that they think pro athletes can be schooled (or maybe re-schooled) in the basics that they should have learned before they got to the NFL.
Good luck gentlemen. I hope Ted Thompson gives Sherman a two-year extension, and all these new guys are there for the ride. I'm very optimistic, but then I'm a Brewers fan too! Les Edwards

____________________ Gee, it's nice to be missed. Thanks, Lemondrop. I've been ruminating recent events, and this is what I come up with: I have a good feeling about Ted Thompson and the future of the franchise, both near and distant. A good feeling. I foresee a Thompson/Sherman collaboration much like the Wolf/Holmgren model. I see Coach Sherman embracing the title "Coach" like he never has, having learned much since 2000, and finding himself unburdened from the headaches of being the General Manager. I see Brett Favre invigorated by off-season manueverings to improve the defense, and by the successful response to treatment by his lovely wife, Deanna. I see him returning with a passion. I see a return to an emphasis on the fundamentals of football, rather than schemes and designs. I see a solid, consistent march to a fourth NFC North title in as many years. And, I see an expanded display case in the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, accomodating another Lombardi Trophy. I have a good feeling. A very good feeling. Speak Out Spew Off...
Hi ya BeerKid and Everybody! I dunno about the rest of ya , but I took the loss with a glass of Alka Seltzer and a heavy heart. Its now Thursday, and I think I have read everything I wanna read about it, & I think my heart resumed its normal position, and I am still Green and Gold PROUD of Brett and Co!!!!!!!!!!! Hooo Rah! Now we just have to get thru another year of who is getting fired, who is getting "retired"---blah blah blah. I don't believe for 1 minute the Mudducks "defeated" the Packers, somehow we seemed to give it to them? I can't believe the people who think what Moss did was humorous, or acceptable on any level. He is a "shock-jock" ( like TO, Mike Tyson, Rodman, Howard Sterns--you know the lot) I don't care if he kisses babies in buggys, or gives money to charity - The guy is the lowest on my chart.
Let the Mudduck fans have their week. They don't deserve to be where they are, but then again---we did kinda put they plane ticket in their hands. OH WELL!! Division Champs We ARE! Funny how when I look the local Mudduck fans in the eyes...they are the ones that turn theirs away first. That to me - says alot! Lemondrop in God's Country.
PS...Good to hear from Duane in Almost God's Country!!! Was gettin worried about him! :)

Very interesting reading in Monday's submissions. To wit: Where were all you Viking backers leading *into* the games, both regular season and playoff. Where's the support *before* the outcome is known? All these "contributions" from people who call themselves Viking fans, when they are in actuality just Packer haters, only confirms the perception that Viking fans are among the most fair-weather anywhere. So, Packer Fans, feel free to ignore and pity the blind "PACKERS SUCK!" crowd and join me in congratulating our team on four playoff appearances, three Division championships and 13 (count 'em) non-losing seasons in a row. Way to go, my friends! Duane in Almost God's Country
P.S. Good Luck Vikings on Sunday. Represent the Division well.

On a more positive note... The packers are the division champs... a title they have the class to carry. Let's look for the "Iggles" to kick Moss in the head/ass (totally interchangable,as we saw.... GROSS and they were worried about Janet Jackson) and again they will have nothing to show except their lack of class and the sh!@#t stain they leave on football. Kittylambeau, Green Bay

Sure, the Pack lost - but hey, two out of three! Wouldn't get too hard on yourselves about it. Next year. And don't get too "outraged" at Moss for his silly antics. If Packer Fans didn't moon the visitor busses, he wouldn't have done it. So hey, Lambeau had it coming. - Vikes Fan In Cheesehead Land.

Hey Packer Backers.... I'm writing this with a very sad heart. Not only did we lose, but now I have to call my brother, the vi-queen fan. Then I have to deal with co-workers Monday who are Lamb and Jets fans.........not a good week ahead.
Right now I'm listening to the post-game interviews on packers.com; Brett is talking to the reporters as if he may retire---don't do it Brett! Don't base your decision on your current emotions! Take the off season to think it over. Guaranteed you'll come back next year with a fire in your belly like never before! We still have faith in you getting the Pack to one more superbowl before you retire. A little tweaking here and there in personnel, and team focus and mindset is what we need. We'll have a better year next season. Go Pack! All I can do now is root for someone to put the Patriots out of the superbowl. Then at least I'll feel somewhat vindicated. The whole season wouldn't be in vain.
Also, what was with FOX cutting off the tribute to Reggie White just to go to a commerical?! FOX, that was just WRONG!!
Lastly, Randy Moss, you need your butt kicked for what you did in the end-zone! There was no reason to pull that! You're a incredible loser! No tact whatsoever! That's what I like about the Pack--our guys play like men all the time, total class act! Regardless of the outcome, we always play with our heart, not our ego. Take note, Randy, maybe you can learn something. Lady K Packer Club of Hemet, So. Cal.

Well now I know what "Buckwheat" Moss' ass looks like. I can't say it looks much different from his face! I was in the South end zone, row 2, when he pulled his dance routine. It's funny how his ankle hurts at the appropriate times? Just another rich dumb ass/face! RomanPacker

| The Mayor of Green Bay declared today "Reggie White Day" Just before kickoff, there will be a special video tribute and a moment of silence for White followed by a military flyover for the NFC Wild Card playoff game. Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt says he's willing to bet the Packers will beat the Minnesota Vikings this weekend. He made a wager with the mayor of Minneapolis. When the Packers win, the mayor of Minneapolis promises to send Mayor Schmitt a pound of fudge equal to the margin of victory. If the Vikings win, Schmitt will send a pound of cheese and a pound of fudge equal to the point difference.

Me and Mr. Walker
| TCB - Contributing Writer for Packer Palace. meandmrwalker@gmail.com |
We missed a couple more folks. My apologies again. This gig is the most fun I have as a writer, but it's also something that I can only do in my spare time. When I don't have any spare time, I can't do it. Please accept my apologies if you like reading this piece, and thanks again to the Packer Palace guys for giving me the space. Also there wasn't much to write about after the Fetid Finale in Philly. But we're back now, with the usual collection of questionable advice, ill founded observation, and with a bit of luck some good jokes. Onward and forward! The Packers are in the playoffs, and of course as everyone will tell you, anyone can win from here on in. Without a powerhouse team in the NFC, any team that gets on a little run and catches a few breaks could certainly make it to the big dance. It appears that the winner in the NFC earns the right to an ugly, John Woo style beatdown by the Steelers, but it's still worth a shot. Go Packers! |

Heh heh eh, even Beer Scout agrees with that. O anyone who's concerned about playing the Vikings... Maybe you were rooting for the Jets over the Rams... I say BRING IT ON! There's no team I'd rather play. Carolina has too good a Defense, the Saints are unpredictable and on a hot streak, the Seahawks played us to OT last season and the Rams... well ok...I'd rather play the Rams.
I'm looking for the Pack to get Ahman back in the gameplan. He's been quiet over the second half of the season. If Bubba shows up and makes plays like he did in Chicago, the Pack can win by 17.
Key to the victory: Cover, Cover, Tackle, Tackle. Score on offense. Figure on needing at least 34 points... again. KX MAN in NYC

Greetings Packer Nation!!! Well, once again the Packers stepped up and shafted the Bears! Noone comes to our house in week 2 and beats the mighty Pack...especially them! The defense stepped up a little although I believe we could've shut them out 34-0 considering they're the last in league on offense (I think). Craig Nall showed he could take control of the ball and score points after Favres' impressive show. The Bi-queens now have to be dealt a blow at Lambeau this Sunday. We cannot let our guard down in this game. They are not to be underestimated because they will be playing hard....like us! I believe it will again be a close game with the Pack on top. After that, we can beat an over-rated team like the Dirty-Birds at Atlanta. Favre showed no weakness this year in a dome and I don't believe this game will be any different. I see us competing on to Philadelphia or St. Louis in the NFC Championship and ekeing out with a field goal....again. I believe we the offense and defense to win it this year and head to Jacksonville. It will be in Florida where the mighty Pack will have to play the best game of their season. Given our talent level and the way the other NFC/AFC teams are playing, we have a pretty darn good shot!
Bless Green Bay and everybody that looks like us! Chris, D/FW, TX

I liked the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's columnist who wrote that the best QB in Soldier Field Sunday was Favre, the second best was Nall and the third best was (GB QB Coach) Darrell Bevell. Vikes are a persistant pain-in-the-ass, and I don't like the idea of a Division opponent in the first round, but who really wants to face a team as hot as the Saints? Besides, can you wish for an opponent with a better psychological frame of mind right now? Thanks, Randy, for setting the mood, I believe that Pack will follow through and finish the job!
By the way, where's "Me and Mr. Walker"? It's sudden departure leaves a void. Please pass along that I enjoy his clever writing and spot on analysis. Les E.

And it will be sooooo sweet-my brother is a vi-queen fan. I can't wait to give him a call afterward. Let's just play 'd' like we did Sunday, and we'll plaster em. Oh, and Mike, get a better coaching staff next year, yourself included! Trade in your play calls for some cajones instead! :) Also, condolences to the White family for their loss. Thankfully I'm confidant he's in heaven getting his just reward. God's sitting on the throne, telling him "Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Hey guys! I was watching the Philly game the other night....that qb Blake actually has a good arm, problem is he'll never come in to play full time w/McNabb at the reins. Maybe someone in the Packer organization should consider giving him a second look to come in behind Favre--we don't need a qb out of college that has no NFL experience-we need someone who is used to the hype, and just wants to come in and learn from the best! Besides, college qb's always want to come right in and just take over...that won't happen while Favre is in town. We don't want no cocky lil momma's boy, so we should get someone who's already been in the league for a few. I think Blake willl be a good consideration. He'd be ready to go for it when Favre does retire(may that not be for a long while yet) At the rate he's going in Philly, he'll just round out his career as a bench warmer and a fill in on photo days. : ) GO PACK!
