Hey BeerKid...
I’m looking for the audio of the Mel Knoke commercial saying “I feel the power”, that was on the different packer sites back in ’97. I use to have it but have lost it. I want to put it on my computer to torment all the rabid Viking fans at work. I live in northern Minnesota and am surrounded by them. Could you help me locate this audio? Any help will be appreciated. Pearl W. ______________________ Hey Pearl, Nothing came up easily during my internet searches, so all I can do is ask any of you out there reading this if you have come across Mel Knoke's commericial or happen to have it on your computer to please email it in to Packer Palace and we'll contact Pearl and make her day and annoy some Vikqueen fans at the same time. Speak Out Spew Off... Man o man, the Packers looked like crap. They lose 17 - 48 to the Bengals... Another big loss on the road during the pre-season. Easy to discount, but is it a harbringer of road games to come or is McCarthy & Company playing possum this preseason. Probably the former... Young teams have trouble on the road. At this rate, the Packers only road win will be against the Bears at the end of the year... heh heheh heh eh.BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life! _________________________ Beerkid: Just some observations... Al Harris is the best shut-down corner in all of football. Charles Woodson is the most overpaid, overrated corner in all of football. Someone needs to remind Nick Barnett that when you are down by 27 points, and you make a stop for no gain, to leave the Samurai Sword in its sheath. Aaron Rogers not only looks like a porn star with that silly 8th grade mustache, but he also throws like one. How many times this year are we going to see the ball slip out of Brett's hand only to have him look around for the ball like a bobbing head doll with a bad spring? Like I told you two weeks ago, Ahman is dancing with the stars. Jennings is only a rookie, but he has already inherited the grin of Antonio Freeman when he drops the ball. GOD I HATE THAT!!!! Be good. RealStuff Sports _________________________ Hey BeerKid.......... I've got it figured out!!!! McCarthy is telling his team to play shitty games this preseason, so along with last years record, teams will figure that they can just pretty much roll their helmet on the field and win. Then the Packers' are going to sneak up on all these teams and bushwhack them!!!! Yeah....that's what they're doing....Yep, that must be it!!!! Long Live the Pack!!!! _________________________ if we going to win the north we got to win the 1st 3 games last nite was U G L Y but its pre season and its on tape so you can only hope they watch and sort out the mistakes _________________________ MISSING ONE OFFENSIVE LINE Last time seen 2004, brother of the d-line that also went missing, last seen 1997. _________________________ Nice... 2 Questions For Joe...
Fellow cheesehead and friend Radiochel got the chance to hang out and ask Joe Theisman of ESPN's Monday Night Football 2 questions on Packer QB Brett Favre. Lucky for us at Packer Palace she sent us an audio clip of her short interview. 2 Questions For Joe on Brett by Radiochel It's only a minute long and Joe does all the talking, but it's worth checking out. As Radiochel suggested, enjoy! BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life! |

Packer Palace Predicts...
Packers 9-7 | It's 9-7 and the NFC North Division Crown. Not only will the Packers beat the Bears on opening day in Green Bay, they will also be able to go down to Chi-town and win the last game of the year to pull even with the Bears and take the division title by tie-breaker. Ultimately everything rides on Brett Favre's arm and decision making skills this year. If he has the normal average year we expect out of him, the Packers can easily win 9 games in weak division with an easy schedule and a semi-strong defense. As to the Playoffs? Well anything can happen once you make the Playoffs. Tell us where we're wrong: |
Update: Thursday August 24th - Not much more to add at this point, 9-7 for the Packers and NFC North Division Crown. The only real problem spots are the interior of the offensive line and the 2nd and 3rd wide receivers. We'll just see how that developes out of the preseason and into the regular season opener against the Bears.BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life! ___________________________ I cant tell you you're wrong. I think you right on the money. And if I am wrong, at least I can say I went down with the team. Something you wont see in the rest of the NFC North Teams! Keep up the good work! Love the shorts and the logo's! GO PACK GO! ___________________________ Me thinks ya just mite be rite! ___________________________ THE VIKES AT 3-13 ARE YOU HIGH? THEY HAVE A BETTER LINE THAN US AND BRAD J OR BJ AS I LIKE TO CALL HIM IS EFFICIENT. 6-7 WINS IS MORE LIKE IT. ___________________________ hey guys, are we still talking about the packers here? the green bay packers? you must not be saying they'll have success. Try to remember them, it will come to you eventually. Big Ern ___________________________ |
Update: Wednesday August 16th - Now we're starting to have some fun. We've got one prediction where it's more likely for the Lions to lose 17 games before the Packers win the NFC North at our predicted tie-breaker over da' Bears at 9-7. We got one guy (alleged Vikqueen fan) who slammed us for our lack of common sense by himself stealing the Dr.Pepper's 23 theme. Yo Dude! Where was your signed rational thought-out prediction for the NFC North this year? I must have missed it, but you still have a chance to go on record before the first regular season game begins. After watching the biggest and fastest players in the world run around and try to destroy each other week after week I don't if I could ever go back to anything that would affect that performance. It's not just the surface of the field, it's the incredible equipment that each player gets to where. You never used to be able to throw your body around in the old days and remain un-injured, now the players can throw themselves around with minor repercussions, so they do. With the way the expected salary cap is to rise to the 150-180 million dollar range, we should be able to finally see expanded rosters to help cover injuries and maybe even the 18 game regular season schedule which will create more late-season injuries. Some fun...BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life! ____________________________ While I would thoroughly enjoy seeing our purple neighbors to the west get whooped 13 times, I think that is unrealistic. 9 losses would satisfy me.... as long as their wins don't include games with the GBP. Scott ____________________________ You are NOT wrong ,let's kick some ass!! ____________________________ I hope you're right, but the Charger game didn't do much to boost my confidence. I hate the Vikes but don't think they'll suck as much as you imagine. I agree, the entire division is pretty week and up for grabs. Bears 10-6 Lions 7-9 Pack 6-10 Vikes 6-10 I hope I'm wrong. Dave / St. Louis ____________________________ Beer Kid: With that "new" offensive line, the Pack will not be back this year. Ahman Green is done, and Brett is in the twilight of his career. With no 2nd receiver, and no protection, he will look like he did last year - heaving the ball downfield with hope and desperation. Ahman Green will not hit the small holes that are opened up. He will take the handoff and dance around looking for one. Remember Brockington, Franco Harris, Chuck Foreman, Emmitt Smith - all dancers. Then you have the kicking game. How many close games in the NFL are won and lost on field-goals? The Pack will lose at least three games due to their kicking game. In addition the young head coach will cost the team at least two losses. To pin our hopes on a rookie linebacker and a washed-up, overrated nickel-back are too much. Next year Rogers will be in at quarterback and another long season will be upon us. Go Pack in 2008.____________________________ I think that it is more likely that the Lions will go 0-17. (Yes, an extra loss.) ____________________________ I see the following: Viqueens 9-7 Bears 8-8 Packers 7-9 Lions 6-10 See you in Nov... Lets kick the Patsies ass A guy from New Hampshire ____________________________ A few more thoughts BeerKid........ Looking at all these injuries now, I think the NFL needs to take the top brass to a demolition derby. Here they crash into one another (just like football) and unlike the NFL, they aren't looking to make faster surfaces and faster cars. They water down the track before their heats so the cars can't get going too fast and someone gets themselves killed. The NFL teams just love finding bigger, faster players and making the fields surfaces faster and with more grip. The players are tearing up knees because the surfaces have no give anymore. Instead they keep making new rules. You can only hit a QB now from the waist to the chest, if a running back gets by you there's only the shirt to grab and that's a horse collar if done wrong. Some of these tolerances are getting pretty small. Hard to aim with players pushing and shoving. Maybe they need to consider making these fields a little more uniform and a little slicker. They used to play with leather helmets, no face masks. Two more things...... Why with Favre's experience wouldn't you have him making more calls offensively (like Manning). Second, don't you find it interesting that a couple members of the new coaching staff are fired coaches of Sherman's. I'm still worried about this group, seeing as none of them has done anything special and Shottenheimer (couldn't he do better). I guess they are there now and will be judged in 3-4 years.... hope we didn't waste more time. Thanks. Long Live the Pack!!!! ____________________________ B-Kid, Have read your site for years... As to "Tell us where we're wrong," nowhere. You are right on, and maybe a little under with the 9-7 record:Sun., Sept. 10 Chicago Bears - W Sun., Sept. 17 New Orleans Saints - W Sun., Sept. 24 @ Detroit Lions - L Mon., Oct. 2 @ Philadelphia Eagles - L Sun., Oct. 8 St. Louis Rams - W Sun., Oct. 15 Open Date Sun., Oct. 22 @ Miami Dolphins - L Sun., Oct. 29 Arizona Cardinals - W Sun., Nov. 5 @ Buffalo Bills - W Sun., Nov. 12 @ Minnesota Vikings - L Sun., Nov. 19 New England Patriots - W Mon., Nov. 27 @ Seattle Seahawks - L Sun., Dec. 3 New York Jets - W Sun., Dec. 10 @ San Francisco 49ers - W Sun., Dec. 17 Detroit Lions - L Thurs., Dec. 21 Minnesota Vikings - W Sun., Dec. 31 @ Chicago Bears - W 10-6 *Only scary part, they'd have to be 7-1 @ Home! Mike ____________________________ this website is getting more worse every season. At least use some common sense when you try to sound smart by predicting the season. My advice, put down the beer, gather up your alll 23 of your brain cells for a rational thought. ____________________________ GangGreen 10-6 Thane ____________________________ Hello Packerland from the UK. Pack to win NFC North 2006 Phil A. ____________________________ The NFC north is a terrible division, Alex Smith looked like a god against the bears and their offense will again be mediocre at best. The Viking Have Lost T. Williams, C. Greenway, and probably Robinson. They have a new head coach who never called a single play at Philly, they have no stars, an unproven RB, terrible recievers, a decent O-line and Defense and an average QB. The Lions have a few flashy players, and I think that Marinelli is the best of the new coaches in the North, but their defense is young, their o-line is shaky, and they are unsettled at the QB position. If the packers would have hired Bates and went after Hutch then I would say we would coast to another NFC north title, but we didnt. We got an unproven head coach with no charisma, we changed our whole blocking philosphy, and we changed D coordinators for the fourth year in a row. The Packers need to get rid of Thompson and get someone who knows that a team can't solely survive on getting a lot of players in the draft and waiting for them to pan out. The Packers can be a good team this year, they have a weak schedule, and a lot of "talent", but McCarthy needs to be like Lovie Smith and give the team some goals like making the playoffs and smoking the bears. My Predictions are:Bears: 9-7 Lions: 6-10 Packers: 6-10 Vikings: 5-11 I still am holding out hope, but reality keeps telling me to go against what Im hoping for... Packers 38 Falcons 10...
![]() Don't forget that Packers.Com's Multimedia page has the audio for the post-game interviews from last Saturday night's 38-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons with Coach Mike McCarthy, LB A.J. Hawk, S Tyrone Culver, G Tony Moll, WR Greg Jennings, CB Charles Woodson and several other players. |
I also subscribed to NFL.Com's Field Pass for radio coverage for any NFL Team. Living outside of fabled Wisconsin I really appreciate that on game day it's 2 hours of pre-game Packer Talk, you also get up to 3 hrs of post-game shows and interviews which can be accessed along with the radio broadcast from Wayne Larrivee and Larry McCarren in the archives. It's always good to hear Packer Broadcasters talking about the Packers and not some of the other yahoo's that the TV Networks can dredge up.BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life! |

Quote Of The Day...
It is a ball-control, the pure West Coast, it's ball-control, it's move-the-chains, and it will move-the-chains, it's been proven a thousand times.
Packer radio announcer Larry McCarren on Packer Pregame Radio before the Packer-Charger game in regards to the Packers new offensive scheme being implemented by new head coach Mike McCarthy.
Someone forgot to point out that "proven 1000 times" didn't seem to inspire a Packer Offense that garnered only 11 first downs in saturday night's 17-3 opening pre-season loss against the San Diego Chargers.

Quote Of The Day...
"We're not going to take this team anywhere ever, this whole experience means too much to the fans. I think it's unique that it does. The training camp tradition at this place is pretty special."
Packers GM Ted Thompson on considering an arrangement in which the Packers would host a team one year and then travel to that team's camp the following year.
If it was only for a few days, I bet the Packers could arrange it so that you would have just as many Packers fans at the other teams training camp for those days as you would anywhere in wisconsin.
BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life!
Mis-Quote Of The Day?
"That will be up to Ted,"
Packers Coach Jeff Jagodzinski on whether Favre would start all four pre-season games or if Aaron Rodgers might get to start a game.
I hope that's a typo or a mis-print, you would think that the decision would be up to Head Coach Mike McCarthy.

Reggie, Reggie, Reggie!
![]()
|
| ______________________ Hey BeerKid, I'd like to add my two cents before they induct Reggie into the Hall of Fame, Saturday. I've read all the stuff players, announcers, etc. have had to say about him. What they missed is the fact that he changed the game of football. He was so dominating that they started allowing offesive lineman to block differently. One game I watched, the team seemed to have decided to leave the tackle one on one with Reggie most of the time. Reggie was going around him at will. They did call several holding penalties on him, but they let alot go....... Lets face it, the ref can't be throwing a flag every other play. You'd never get the game done. He's probably the first one that the refs started looking away, when the O-linemen would start hooking with their arm around him....... which is now fully allowed. Deacon Jones and those boys could head slap the O-linemen til they couldn't see straight and the O-linemen couldn't use their hands blocking like they can now.....they weren't in his class!!!!!! He tossed 300 lb. linemen around like kids!!!!!! You couldn't run his side unless you stayed 5 yards away from where he was. If you had four Reggies' to line up, the offense couldn't function...... you'd need eight O-linemen to try and block them. The guy was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The guy was double and triple teamed 3/4 of the time, was held merclessly, and still was dominant!!!!!!! REGGIE IS THE BEST THAT EVER PLAYED!!!!!! Long Live the Pack!!!! ______________________ |
