Speak Out Spew Off...
______________________________________...so we DID kick the Queenies ass with Favre...not as much as I thought though! And you're right, I'm still chewing crow over Favre wanting to play for the purple chickens. But no one will convince me that Ted didn't usher him out of GB. You say quit, I say run out. And who are these "ex-Packer fans telling you to worship Favre over the Pack?" Jeff Ircink is the only one I've heard of doing that! Did you see the Eau Claire Favre jersey burning story? That could be some incentive for you to get back there! HA! Beerscout BeerScout, yeah the Pack's home record against the Vikes during the Favre Era looks good at 11-5... and Jeff was the only BF Fanboy left... everyone else I think I've already run-off with my alleged hatin' rants. BK ______________________________________ Beer Kid....long time no chat! How go things in sunny Cali? As you know, I live in the Twin Shitties. Let me tell you...well you probably already know this...but these fans are about as obnoxious as I have witnessed in my life, and even more so now that our "former #4" has signed. All I can say is, Packers, win the friggin' game so that I can witness an entire state turn into a quivering mass of goo, instead of the puffy-chested loudmouths that they have been for the last several months. Any new beers you might like to recommend to a fellow suds lover? Scott "Formerly Drunk on Water Street" Scott, my sympathies for you and every other Packers fan living in Minnesota... The game is going to dictate alot of moods come Tuesday morning... New beers? Mostly we've been drinking Stone's IPA and Ruination Ales, a Chimay every once in awhile, and I noticed Ommegang's Belgian Brew delivery truck outside the Whole Foods this morning coming back with my coffee, intrigued me a bit... A friend, Camp, sent me some Walters... 'though I'm not sure I'd recommend it to anyone who prefers IPA like I do. BK ______________________________________ enjoy. ill be in nyc again for the game, looking for another great Packer bar. angry wade's in brooklyn was the most fun i've had watching a Packer game on tv in a while, but alas, no Leinenkugel's.... 15 Best 'I Hate Brett Favre' Shirts - http://theangryt.com/?p=3150 p.s. I have the 'We'll Never Forget You Brent' shirt. 2 for $30 at mall o'america! tg Hey TG, I too, have the Never Forget You Brent Tee... I better make sure it's clean for the Monday Night Game. BK ______________________________________ Let the record show that I am a Green Bay Packers fan first and ALWAYS!! No way that any one single player is EVER bigger than the team itself. Especially when you are talking about our franchise! I mean, you can have a punk like Randi Moss trump the Vikings... who cares? You can have T.O. spread his cancer to every team he goes to... who cares? But that won't ever fly in Green Bay, Wisconsin. And the day it *does*, is the day I'm no longer a fan of the Packers. Because that, my friends, is NOT what the Green Bay Packers organization has ever been about. As I keep telling all the TT-haters who belly-ache and moan constantly about how he "drove Favre out" (a complete inaccuracy!), and how he's "destroying the team", blah, blah, blah ... Mark my words: If Ted Thompson had allowed Brett Favre to take the entire organization hostage to his ever-changing whims, and had actually reversed course and put him back in as starter in place of Aaron Rodgers... Then Aaron Rodgers would be suiting up for another team as I type this. The Packers would have lost him. Then it would only be a matter of time (after the Favre unretire-re-retire- experiment failed), that the very same TT-haters would be calling for Thompson's head for not doing proper succession-planning at the most important position on the team. They'd be all over him for not drafting or developing someone to come after #4. And, quite possibly, the Packers would then fall into 2 decades of mediocre quarterbacking - a 'la da bears. Instead, we've got a young and up-and-coming QB who might very well give us a Joe Montana - Steven Young type of scenario. And how often does *that* happen? Answer: almost never. Consider *that*, TT-haters. Drop your irrational belly-aching and really think about it in the entire context and perspective. Ted Thompson's possibly finest move... his legacy... could end up being Aaron Rodgers. That's hardly small potatoes. #66 Chica Hey Chica... thanks for stopping by... I have to say I agree with what you're saying... BK ______________________________________ Morning coffee reading.... Beat writer Greg A. Bedard asked Green Bay Packers legends about the 'Monday Night' matchup against onetime friend Brett Favre, and they agreed: It can't be worse - http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/63010312.html Lemondrop ______________________________________ Ugh...http://www.purplepride.org - Check out his story about Childress being out of the "doghouse." I think he's spewing a week too early! HA! Beerscout ______________________________________ Please, let's just move on. #4 became a Free Agent and signed elsewhere. There doesn't have to be any more to it than that. He wasn't the first, and unfortunately he won't be the last (at least as long as tt holds the reins..) The Packers can beat him/them. Who knows EVERY nuance of his game more than the Packers' Defense?? Who has the DB's to squash Berrian and Co? Can the Packers contain "AD" and keep out of the end zone??The Packers have done it before... The ONLY problem I see coming up is with the Packers' O-line (Thanks again ted)....The Williams boys aren't as good as they once were, and Jared Allen isn't quite as fearsome as he once was. Carl "Gator" Nelson ______________________________________Brett Favre is a dick. Sudsman Hey Brew Brother... c'mon, I can't believe I'm defending him, but there's absolutely no proof that BF is a dick. Speak Out Spew Off...
There are two things on my mind today... the first, is the whole Mason Crosby missed the 53 yard FG that would have given the Packers the win last year in the Metrodome.... yeah, well, doesn't anyone remember the 3 plays before that? I do, run up the middle - Second, is the blaming of RB Ryan Grant for not being some kind of superstar with over 500 yards in rushing after 3 games. Guess what? When all of us keep harping on the fact our O-line is the weakest in recent memory... who in the hell thinks a Packers RB is going to have some kind of awesome game, ever, you're going to get the game he had last week, the "you have to carry the ball 30 times to break 100 yards" type game. That weakened Packers running game still somehow managed to grind out the clock at the end to preserve the Packers win, although the Rams defense had probably giving up by that point. So ease up folks, when the O-line plays better, everything else will fall in line behind it and we'll see the end of the Zone-Run right and Zone-Run left play calling we've seen so far. BeerKid - Always Pack 4 Life! |
| ________________________________ I nominate Desmond Bishop to administer the snappage. I know he ain't right. All hail Nitschke, I would be willing to accept his take on it, but I suspect it would be the deciding vote for snappage. ray ________________________________ It is all about the championships. Joe Montana was the greatest QB EVER and Dan Marino was one of the worst, forgettable. Nate ________________________________ fbg3, trust me, point taken and deeply respected, even way more than the deep respect i have for that delicious notebook the esteemable bk leaves laying around on here that says merely, "kick ass." Could have been a byword for Lombardi's playbook, which as I recall, had roughly 20 plays in it on the offensive side, was sort of like here it is, try and stop it asshole. And there were some very signifigant opponents with names like Deacon Jones, Dick Butkus, Bob Lilly, some for real scary guys who would do their dirty work and not feel the need to dance and point at themselves afterwords. Loved that bit the Packer db's were doing a little bit last year I think, where they merely shook hands. I hate that pointing at oneself stuff, it is so contra Packer tradition, point at the G maybe. Additionally there cannot be an ovation loud and impassioned enough for Donald Driver, especially if you know the story of that guy's youth, he is a miracle not unlike the Green Bay Packers themselves. Hopefully Brett can come up with a performance much like he humiliated all of us with when Coach Holmgren returned to Green Bay and kicked our ass badly, with Brett with a towel over his head. I just wish the facts would come out that I don't know about as regards TT or Coach McCarthy bearing the slightest amount of guilt in Brett's departure, I so wanted to be on Brett's side, but if justice is served on Monday Night and moreso still in Green Bay where I still fear there will be fistfights among Packer fans for the first time ever, it won't just be a Packer victory, I have never wished for injury to a player, particularly one I nothing short of loved as a player and a man and a once perfect representative of our team, but....if we could get several thousand of us to shout Nitschke in unison right before kickoff, i know it worked for me before the game against the niners in san fran in 95 and it worked. Justice must be served, and probably heads much cooler than my own to get the desired result, pure humiliation. ray ________________________________ All Hail St. Vincent, who shall not let the Vikqueens pass...at least that's what I'm hoping and praying for. foundinidaho ________________________________ Don't appreciate Favre much these days do you BK? An "A-hole?" wow...extremely harsh. I don't think it's "demanding you pay tribute" it's just "giving Favre credit" for what he did. You can quote interception figures all you want, but the real question is "would you have rather NOT had Favre?" I doubt you'd say yes. We kicked the Queens ass with Favre. I don't even know the numbers...anyone want to add them up? Starr? He was GREAT, but it was another era. Claiming he was superior is a line of logic that Queens fans use clamoring about "Superbowls" vs. "Championships." I don't think so...apples and oranges. Beerscout BeerScout, I think you're still the only one on the face of the earth who still doesn't believe BF wanted to play for the Vikings last year. He QUIT on the Packers to get out of his contract to go play for a bitter rival - Calling him an A-hole doesn't begin to describe it. I am being asked to pay tribute to him... There are so many ex-Packer fans that keep telling me to worship BF first, the Packers 2nd, and throw hate at TT and MM for letting him go. According to my Packers Media Guide, BF was 17-15 lifetime as a Packer against the Vikings (includes the 2004 Playoff loss in GB, a 6-10 record in Minnesota, excludes Don Majkowski's loss in game 1 of 1992) and the Packers have 9 NFL Championships + 3 Super Bowls, whereas the Vikings don't have any NFL Championships in the non-Super Bowl era and 4 SB losses... BK ________________________________ OMG... this is getting putrid. Local Mudduck fans are claiming that was Bretts' FIRST hail mary game winner ever! Someone bring me a bigger bat to beat them with, or a bigger pail to puke in! Please? This is really getting ugly in Northern Wi. Say a prayer for me? Thanks Packer fans! Lemondrop Hey Lemondrop, I think technically, that was BF's 1st game winning TD as time ran out... BK ________________________________ Anyone besides me wonder what it would be like if TT had hired Sean Payton instead of MM? Pack Fan in Texas Hey Pack Fan in Texas, I think about that every once in awhile... I'm still trying to figure out why McCarthy stuck with Bob Sanders when Jim Bates quit, and then the horrific hiring of Jeff Jagodzinski who installed the ZBS and then fled the scene after 1 year... 2 mistakes that MM and TT may never recover from... BK ________________________________ Everyone keeps complaining about the O-line (including myself. We have for a number of years. It seems easy to blame TT or MM. It seems to me that maybe we should be looking at James Campen. He is their coach and is supposed to work to correct these obvious problems. To many technique errors for so many years point to the position coach not the head coach or GM. From Ray. "I still must admit that Favre is likely the greatest Packer of them all." Ray. Favre has all the records, but the greatest qb the Packers ever had was Bart Starr. When crunch time came Starr was the guy who you wanted to have the ball in his hands. He knew what it took to win. Don't compare touchdowns etc because the game was played completely different then. Compare championships. If you do then the best will stand out. Starr took the game in his hands and won. Farve threw interceptions. fbg3 Hey fbg3, BF is an awesome competitor... but I do agree with you, it's about the championships, and Bart Starr has 5 of them... and BF has 1. As far as the coaching the o-line goes... it's the ZBS that's limiting what kind of players that the Packers can use... there's just not enough players to go around that can play and excel at the ZBS and right now, the Packers have maybe 1 of those players - Daryn Colledge, whereas Chad Clifton and ex-Packer Mark Tauscher never bought into that system. BK ________________________________ Pink-cleeted Favre | Slow dancing in the pocket | Should be quite a sight - http://FavreHaiku.com Favre Haiku ________________________________ @Tom R "Brett has always struggled at the Metrodome"

Bart Starr was more of a god then BF could ever hope to be... and I'm still pissed off that all of you BF fan boys are still demanding the rest of us Packer fans pay tribute to some a-hole who is no longer on the team... and did you hear McCarthy the other day, BF told him in that face-to-face interview in August 2008 that he wanted to go to the Vikings then. BF only has loyalty to himself and not to any team, or to any fans. What do you have to say to that? Let me know... BK I point out those 7 games because if you notice, 5 of those were his last 5 in the dome. In those 5 most recent games he had a 68 completion %, 12 TD and 2 INT with a 108.7 passer rating and 4 wins. Now I don't know about you, but it looks to me as if he overcame his Metrodome curse later in his career. Also, you mention Favre's loyalty. One of my best friends grew up with me, we went to the same elementary school and middle school. When high school came around, he moved to the other side of town and was forced to go that school, our biggest rivals. He played WR for their football team. When we played them, I wanted to blow them out but I always wanted my friend to play well. I didn't want him to look like a chub. This is also how I feel about Favre. He was there for me for a good 17 years or whatever in Green Bay. But the time came and he was forced to move across the river. I still think he's amazing, but man do I want to KICK HIS ASS!!! Nate Hey Nate, good to hear you want the Pack to kick BF's ass... and what you do point out, is that BF played better in the dome under TT and MM then under previous administrations... even more of a reason to call his commitment to his team of 16 years completely bogus. He quit on the Packers, that's why I'll never, ever look at him again in the same way I did 2 years ago... His season is going perfectly by the script. He's lightin' it up in September, just like last year, and the year before. But does anybody (besides a certain Brett-o-phile troll) really think he can keep this up into December and January? Every time he retires, he talks about how he can't handle everything involved in this long NFL season. I, for one, am glad to see some very emotional moments this early in the year. And I hope the Packers continue to suck the lifeblood out of that walking corpse next Monday night, like a spider sucking the life out of a fly. Pack 20-10. Packers 2nd Place NFC North 2-1...
| _________________________________________ Like vultures they just sit and wait for the tastiest bits of dieing Packers that were left unattended. Longwell, Sharper, Favre the queens are nothing without the leftover Packer scraps. Maybe you can try to hire Bart Starr as your offensive coordinator you greasy piss soaked sponges. F the F'en queens Ibleedgreenandgold _________________________________________ Gator, Why do you lead with "Brett and the Vikings" in each and every single one of your (Packers vs. Vikings) 'poems'? Are you a Packers fan? Who the fu_k cares about "Brett and the Vikings"? - except for, obviously - YOU? You frame your drivel in the context of the "NFC North" - yet you NEVER craft your "poetry" around the Lions, or the Bears. - Do you? You LEAD with the viqueens every week, and then follow with the Green Bay Packers. Hey, if you're a Favre-fan/groupie/psycophant first, and a Green Bay Packer fan somewhere next, that is what it is. Just be intellectually-honest about what you call your 'input' here as well as anywhere else you've managed to ingratiate your attempts at literary relevance. Otherwise, you scream your loyalty to #4, at the expense of the Green Bay Packers and all-else (including and especially your previous all-out hatred for the Minnesota Vikings - which you've conveniently set-aside). Simply put, you're one of the folks who demonstrate your loyalty to Brett Favre over the Green Bay Packers. Which makes me realize that you were truly never a legitimate fan of the Green Bay Packers to begin with. Non-true fan .... simply-put. #66 Chica Chica... Chica... Chica... how have you been? Haven't heard from you for while, since you've gotten bounced from most Packers' boards. I'm sort of surprised you'd pop up and twist my tail for no reason like this, but I shouldn't be surprised, I guess. I've noticed your poisonous pennings and malignant missives here and there around the 'net lately. Typically-you start off by questioning why I format my poems like I do--when you've read them for years, and when we've talked face-to-face about it. A little disingenuous don't you think? Of course you've never been one to let the facts get in your way.
_________________________________________Well TRAITOR Favre is next. I cannot say I am expecting to see what I would like to see. I come from Chicago to the Packer experience in 65 at 8 years old and although my memories are now dim of the Lombardi Packers or even James Lofton who is my age, I still must admit that Favre is likely the greatest Packer of them all, though I am not old enough to have seen the quite extraordinarily dominant Don Hutson. Yeah I know Bart won more, and I enjoy the rare quarterback rating system that shows him to be number 1 in history. But that Traitor Favre guy well, u guys saw what I saw and even for all the interceptions, u know that guy was unbelievable, especially for those of us who had endured so many poor operators at QB for the Pack between Bart and the Traitor. He is nothing less than that until I am shown the evidence otherwise. Although my somewhat stoic belief in TT has been shaken, I fail to see where he was guilty of anything other than looking out for the best interests of the Green Bay Packers. Did he not ask him back? Did Brett not retire and then expect to come back in July and have the job handed to him? And one of many cogent points rarely raised, and absolutely essential to the equation, was not Aaron, not Erin, Aaron Rodgers contract up very shortly thereafter, do folks actually think he would have wanted to stay in Green Bay to be Brett's backup, or to stay in Green Bay period, it is not a garden world to many, maybe particularly someone from in or around the Bay Area of Cali. While I am not in favor of anyone fighting or throwing things when he gets to Lambeau, I am in favor of booing bordering on pure hatred from the time he steps on that field for warmups right to the end, even if he riddles us for 5 or 6 td's, nothing can trump his main card, and that is that of a TRAITOR, and if the Chicago mob was summoned to do some special work that night on his restaurant which hideously I guess still stands, well, I would be looking the other way. But I presume so small an assignment would not be worth their while unless the price was right. May he meet a traitors end. Hat tip to the radio show Fanline on WDUZ for reading off the Packers news release while I was listening. In other news... with LT Chad Clifton out for at least 2 weeks (McCarthy's words) that means that normal LG Daryn Colledge is going to play LT (originally drafted for this position) and.... just musing here, but didn't the Packers run the ball better with Colledge playing LT last year, I thought I saw a stat on that someplace.... anyway, with a week of practice with the new line-up things should go smoother than what happened last week against the Bengals, but then again, who's playing RT? |

BK interesting BK. well if i can't be a packer fan ever again, then you were never a favre fan. can't have it both ways. and to say someone cheers for Brett and cheers against the Vikings is bull. it's like Tarkenton saying he hopes Brett fails. well if Brett fails the team will fail and how can Fran want his ex-team to fail. besides, if i ever cheer again for the Pack, there's nothing stopping me. not you or anyone else. GO FAVRE AND THE VIKES! GO PACKERS - ONCE TT IS OUTTA THE PICTURE! jeff ircink Hey Jeff... I never said you couldn't be a Packers fan again, just said you were going to have trouble qualifying it after being a Vikings fan this year and I guess a Jets fan last year. Of course I was a BF fan... 2nd to being a Packers Fan first, through thick and thin, through crappy years and super bowl years. Packers fanatic first, and I'm tired of Brett Favre Fanboy's demanding that I pay tribute to some player who's not on the Packers!!!. BK if die hard packer fan means i suck in everything TT tells me and watch him jerk a team around for his own gain, no - i won't be a die hard packer fan. i won't swallow what TT dishes out. sorry. usually i agree with "the team first, players follow". but did TT have "the team" in mind when he bounced favre outta the picture or drafted like an ass? no. it's no secret that around the NFL scout watercooler (i have a friend who's friend is a scout), TT has a rep for being a strange coot. you and others on this board are already grumbling about TT two games into the season. doesn't that strike you as odd? jeff ircink Hey Jeff... TT is who he is and BF is who he is... and your scout friend knows just what we all do about TT and BF's relationship - jack squat! TT drafts pretty damn well, what I don't like is that he doesn't use other avenues to get high-end players. His off-season free agents get cut, and the whole Charles Woodson signing (thank our lucky stars for this) came down from some 7 teams to just 2, and the Pack after sitting back and waiting and waiting, final offered more money than the other team. So TT has never been the be-all end-all in Packer GM'ing... and I'm not interested in following a player who won't work-out or participate with the team he's on especially if he's in Minnesota. Packers 2nd Place NFC North 1-1...
Good News! It was once said that the way we know we're "alive" is because the "pain" of events proves to us that we're more than a rock sitting on the shoreline of some forgotten bay dreaming of pleasantness. Every Packers fan this morning, feels the pain of life acutely after watching in near disgust at the Packers loss to the Bengals 24-31 at Lambeau Field and slipping down to 1-1 in the NFC North. The Packers GM Ted Thompson, you know what will be on his soon-to-be Packers Gravestone? No, it won't be that he let Brett Favre get away, no no, it's going to be that he couldn't get one starting-caliber offensive lineman on the team, either as a free-agent or through his coveted draft. So far in his short reign, the only decent linemen on the roster have come from his predecessors, RT Mark Tauscher, LT Chad Clifton, and you might as well throw C Scott Wells in there. They are the only O-lineman that would have started on another team. As we know, Tauscher is out (probably forever as a Packer choice) and Clifton left the game on a cart, creating the the musical chairs re-positioning of the Packers lineman. LG Daryn Colledge is a decent player, it took him 3 years to reach this point, but he's decent, and maybe C/G Jason Spitz is a decent player, but the juries still out on that, and RG Josh Sitton, incomplete, and then comes the woeful, under-achieving, isn't there a player on some other teams Practice Squad who can play better, there has to be, because RT Allen Barbre, who can't make a block, even after a chip-block by both the TE and RB, can't make a block to save his job.... well I guess he'll save his job. There's absolutely no one on the Packers roster who is better and with head coach Mike McCarthy (who's starting to prove he can't play-call he's way out of wet paper bag) defending him after last week's blocking debacle against the Bears, well, Barbre's job is safe as far as I can tell. GM Ted Thompson = Epic Fail! There I've said it, but it took the obvious to bang away at my head for 3 hours yesterday for my eyes to open. Go Pack! I'll still be there on Sundays, but with a heavy heart for the potential that might have been. BeerKid - Always Pack 4 Life! |

| _______________________________________ I think I was starting to drink the same Green & Gold jello shots that many others have been consuming all preseason. I was actually stunned by the game on Sunday. It reminded me so much of last year I thought I was having flash backs. I really thought we were a much better team. I am trying to put my long standing dislike of Ted Thompson behind me but this guys arrogant approach to building the team continually comes back to hit him and all Packer fans over the head. Aaron Rodgers is going to be killed if we don't get the situation on the offensive line resolved. What are we doing to upgrade our line? What are we doing to bring in a veteran QB for a reliable back up? What are we doing to get running backs that are a factor in the game? I am just plain frustrated. It seems we get the seasonal Favre distraction and once the season starts we are faced with the reality of how little we have accomplished building a better team since Favre has left. Aaron Rodgers is probably one of the only guys I don't worry about. So much for the QB controversy, much more about a management controversy. Don't tell me about rebuilding or being the youngest team in the NFL. This is BS. The NFL is lacking great teams at this time and it is too bad we have not gotten our act together yet. Ted the clock is ticking!! CAMP _______________________________________ BK, this is kind of sick irony....I just happened to randomly scroll down the packerpalace page, and I clicked on your "2004 Give me another Draft." Guess who you predicted the Packers would pick? Antuan Odom, DE Alabama!!! The very gentleman who looked like Reggie White yesterday!!! That's right, BK, if Sherman would've listened to you instead of drafting Ahmad Carroll, maybe Aaron Rodgers wouldn't be spending this whole week in the whirlpool. Ruppert Hey Ruppert, aaaaaah I'd feel better about predicting/wanting that pick to be Odom if he had done anything before this year... but hellyeah, Odom was a better pick than Carroll by far... and that didn't require 20/20 hindsight to be accurate. BK _______________________________________ Being a Packer fan in Minnesota, I will simply wait for the "purple time-bomb" to explode. I can see it in the eyes of every ViQueen loving loser I serve at my bar... they know it is coming. When I ask them, "SuperBowl or it's a failure right???" they look down sheepishly, shuffle their feet & say "well ... no... not really... A.P. is gonna be a hall of famer though". Idiots, 99% of 'em anyway. GO PACK GO! JONNY C _______________________________________The Packer Fan in the Black Hat should have been the fan of the game >>>>>>>>> Halverson Thanks Halverson, for providing one of the non-blurry images of true diehard Packer fan helping out on 85's Lambeau Leap... who sold the tickets to the Bengals fans??? I would think that's enough to have your season tickets revoked. BK _______________________________________ I totally agree with BeerKid's assessment!! Spend a little on the O-Line will ya. What good does it do to have a top notch QB if you can't protect him? This team is no better than last year's and probably worse. At least last year we had some sort of offense. I think I'll DVR the games and decided after I see the final score whether or not to watch. Tom Hubble Hey Tom, thanks, but I forgot to mention that the Pack don't have a 3rd down RB either, and no, it wasn't Tyrell Sutton either.... although he showed more enthusiasm and hard running to fit that role than any RB on the current roster. BK _______________________________________ Wise words(?) for us readers from Packers.Com as of this morning.
Lemondrop _______________________________________ Before we all jump on Mike McCarthy and call for his head, let's at least look at what the real problem is. McCarthy's not to blame for Jennings and Finley's alligator arms yesterday. He's not to blame for Chad Clifton spraining his ankle and being out for an indefinite amount of time. I believe that this team is just slow out of the gate, and ought to get themselves back together against St. Louis, Detroit, Cleveland etc. before the second half of the schedule, by far the roughest, appears. If we want to point the finger of blame, I blame TT (even though I am in his support camp). What kind of putz keeps three fullbacks and leaves the O-line thin? KevinF Hey Kevin, what kind of Putz? well, the kind of putz who keeps building for the future at the expense of winning games now, the kind of the putz who so infatuated with his drafting, that he doesn't feel the need to ever bring in a quality free agent at any position, let alone someone who might help the o-line. BK _______________________________________ 3rd and 34? | You've got to be kidding me! | Packer blue haiku | http://PackerHaiku.com Packer Haiku _______________________________________ MM should put Woodson in at RT. If he plays O-line with half the spriit he does corner, he'll be better than the lot of sorry linemen. Jim _______________________________________ Well, my TT hating is back in full roar, even if I see his point (to an extent) with the Brett situation now. This sucked. Please, please, let us prepare better for the next game and maybe find an offensive line. foundinidaho _______________________________________ ![]() Click For Pack _______________________________________ The stink of this loss will hang around a long time. Just when you desperately want to convince yourself that the Pack will be OK, the Bengals (!) deliver a hard, cold slap of reality. O-line is terrible, defense is vanilla and inconsistent. Not to mention, what's with all the dropped passes? Now it's on to the Rams. If they can't win that one, time to start the countdown for Mike Holmgren's return in 2010! Ray66 _______________________________________ I saw this coming two years ago when Thompson forced Favre out. Packer fans be ready to watch the Vikings and Bears in the post season this year. Lets force out Thompson and McCarthy and get a real GM and coach. Go Favre!! favrefan4ever Hey non-Packer fan, right... you saw the problems with the o-line and injuries 2 years ago... got it, did you predict BF's big fall from grace with the Jets due to his injury??? Like I said to Jeff down below, Diehard-Packer fan means something, but like Jeff, you don't have it either. Take a look at BeerScout, he's rooting for Favre to do well, however, he's also rooting for the Vikings to lose every game they play, like a diehard Packer fan would. BK _______________________________________ WOW !! That has to be the absolute FIRST time I've seen a left tackle go down with an injury. Since it happens so rarely to 33 year-old guys, especially those who have had bilateral shoulder surgeries- and I think knee or ankle surgery in the past year or two, I can surely see why the Packers wouldn't have a backup for this position ready. WHat the hell--one guy goesout and the whole line has to get changed? Where, oh where, is all the depth that the Thompson supporters are always raving about? Since the line sucks so far this year anyway, maybe this will turn out to be a good move for the team. But I fear it's another Teddy experiment going awry..... Carl "Gator" Nelson _______________________________________ Sorry, but I am not jumping off the wagon yet. A lot of what happened on Sunday can be attributed to a good football team having a bad game. The reasons are many, but with so many young players on the team, it looks to me like the number one reason pertains to the preseason cakewalk. The younger players might be thinking that the preseason was an indicator of the regular season. It also looks like the Bears are better than what they showed in the Packer game. The Packers are clearly not an elite team yet, but I believe they are closer than they looked on Sunday. draftfan _______________________________________ Jesus, Not Jesus Ray _______________________________________ Favre in 2011 Halverson _______________________________________ McStimpy, you fat bloated EEDIOT!! McCarthy, the master play caller, managed to call THREE whole running plays in the 2nd half. THREE. The game is close....tied or within a TD until 2 minutes left. Our best O lineman is out...Rodgers is getting crushed on every dropback...and we try THREE whole running plays. Given Cinci's pass rush, I would think about 10 draw plays might have had some effect. There's a lot to complain about, and maybe this wouldn't have even mattered. But it's still stupid. Ruppert_______________________________________
Packer Jim _______________________________________ I thought the Packers were suppose to be good? Good grief, it's just like last year all over again. How much longer do we have to suffer with TT & MM? Another 5 years? Would that be enough? Mark in Superior _______________________________________ WTF Packers!!!! I don't care if you almost made it back, COMPLETELY different team than the one we saw vs. the bears. NONSENSE!!!!! I can hear St. Vince saying "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON DOWN THERE?!?!?!" I'm Hooked, Lined and Sinkered Too...
by the Lingerie Football League. After watching on TV the girls from the Los Angeles Temptation and the Denver Dream pound away at each other, clothes-lining, general high tackling, pushing and shoving on almost every single play, I'm hooked. It's 7 on 7 on the Indoor Football Fields (although Denver was outside last night) and they don't throw the ball all that well, but they do alot of running with counters, sweeps and pretty much use wildcat formation on every play, it was wild, it was entertaining! Now the pic at the right of Britainie De Garbott (posing without her shoulder pads, cleats and helmet) of the Los Angeles Temptation, who did have a very nice TD run last night in her team's win over the Denver Dream. They fought hard to finish off their late 2nd half come from behind to first tie, and then win the game outright 26-20. When you get the chance, check a game out, these hot young women trash talk constantly and play tackle football, oh and how could I forget the chest-bumping after TD's... like I said, I'm hooked, lined and sinkered. Speak Out Spew Off...
You know it doesn't bug me that Chad Ochocinco wants to Lambeau Leap this Sunday... the fans can treat him the way they do most leaps, by spilling beer, grabbing parts, slapping butts and all around general posing for the camera behavior. The best line I heard is that after the leap, the fans should start passing Ochocinco up towards the edge of the Stadium... heh heh eh, ala Camp Randall. I was looking over the still available RT free agents, and well, no one really jumps out, but if current RT Allen Barbre plays like last week, well, hell, someone is going to have to replace him and I don't see that player already on the team. One more thing now that it's Saturday, sounds like the Twins have an outside chance to be interfering with the Vikings-Packers game in the Humpty Dome October 5th with the talk, centering on switching around the home and away aspect of the 2 football games this year... well I said outside chance, the lease appears to favor the Vikings and well, baseball's a 2nd tier sport these days, and the Twins will choke away their chances beforehand, just like their purpled football-brethren typically do anyway... BeerKid - Always Pack 4 Life! |
| ______________________________ lol @ Ochocinco. You should read the stuff he has on Twitter. He asked Obama for a room at the White House when he comes to DC, Oprah to take him on and dump him after a few months for the publicity, Brittany Spears if she needs a spare dancer on his bye week, challenged Vanessa Williams to a match. That guy likes to talk. Lemondrop ______________________________ From Greg Bedard, Milwaukee Journal Sentinal, 9/18/09 http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/59803997.html
"Right now, we are subsidizing this market," Jones said of the NFL's revenue-sharing policy. "It's unthinkable to think that the market you've got here, with 3.5 million people, and have teams like Kansas City and Green Bay subsidizing this market. That will stop. That's going to stop. That's called revenue sharing. That's on its way out." Late last week, the NFL fined Jones $100,000 for violating the gag order on talking about labor issues. The bigger issue, especially for the league's smaller markets, is that Jones usually walks in step with other big-market owners. If revenue sharing is indeed on its way out, it could adversely affect places like Green Bay, which have relied on it." ![]() Boz ______________________________ Alright Craig! Go Tuskers! Not good enough Packers--I expect more from the line, and actually from the whole offense.....let's get it together, got it? Carl "Gator' Nelson ______________________________ I expect our OL will do a much better job this week, and that means a solid win. But I most look forward to the devastating 4 man wrecking crew on the DL. Raji playing will ramp up the play of the other three who really want to stay out there. It's anyone's guess whether Raji, Pickett, Jenkins (YEA!!) or Jolly (HOORAY!!) has his best day, but who cares? On top of that, who will Capers send in to further disrupt? Poor Carson Palmer must be wondering the same thing. jim schemenauer Hey Jim, how can the offensive line play any worse, well they could I suppose, but the Bengals can't pressure or play as stifling a defense as the Bears did last week, by concentrating on taking away the Packers slant passes, this week the adjustments are made, and the Pack's D-line is going to be even more aggressive with Raji getting some playing time... game-time isn't coming soon enough. Packers 1st Place NFC North 1-0...
| Packers Beat The Bears 21-15 -- Packers saved the best play for last, the old Bart Starr bomb to Carroll Dale on 3rd and short... oh, I mean the new Aaron Rodgers bomb to Greg Jennings on 3rd and short, which BeerScout also pointed out, was almost a throw-away play seeing that they would still more than likely have gone for it on 4 down anyway, but don't spill your beer!!! Packers play-action the run up the middle, the Bears expecting the Pack's all-time favorite play for no gain, called out loudly "oh no run up the middle" repeatedly by many drunken cheesehead's, playing d-coordinators all across the nation, but yet, they sucker the Bears big time, and Jennings is free and clear and hit in stride and 50 yards later, TD Green Bay Packers!!! It's more official than ever - The Bears Still Suck!!! The Bears Still Suck!!! Contributing to BeerScout's and my delinquency this evening was several varietys of Stone... IPA, Vertical Epic '09, and Cali-België to wet our appetites, and hell, Shane was finishing up the Grolsch, that well, honestly, it's been there in the back of the 'fridge for 4 months, and well, neither BeerScout nor myself would touch that stuff under any circumstances, but we had plenty of Stone, and at the end of all the partying in heavy moderation, the Packers deliver for us. It's 1-0 and that's first place in the NFC North, so so sorry Vikings, you beat an AFC team, it barely counts, the Packers beat a divisional team and that means 1-0 1st Place NFC North. Go Pack Go! And by the way, Favre looks about a hundred years old and can't throw downfield anymore unless he gets an hour to step into this throws. Of course he is a few years older than Favre. In fact, I might be able to do that behind the big Vikings line and having AP to hand off to. Is there any more pretentious ass than Keith Olberman? Packer fans should be ticked off that he gets to talk about our football team as if he knows anything about football or the Packers. You could complain to NBC, but no easy mechanism exists for you to do that. NBC hides behind a wall to prevent complaints about their totally wasted airtime that includes Keith Olbermann. draftfan Hey Draftfan, I think the more annoying factor of Sunday Night Football pre-game coverage, is that between BeerScout and myself, we couldn't tell if NBC was actually covering anything about the Packers-Bears game, it was like a total blackout of any info on the upcoming game, and besides the fact that announcer Chris Collingsworth has never, ever, said a decent word about the Packers, it's so obvious he hates the team, or worse, he hates their cheesehead lovin' fans. BK ___________________________________ draftfan, I think you are wrong about Keith Olberman. He is a consumate sports fan and once was the highest-rated TV sportscaster in the Los Angeles market. Speak Out Spew Off...
Well it's official - Both the Williams' Sisters - Vikqueens DT's Kevin and Pat got off from being suspended for using a banned substance called Starcaps. Nothing like a little Minnesota State Justice to tip the tables as much as possible in the Vikqueens favor. So the Vikings will start off this season exactly the same way last season ended, by cheating, by masking the steroid use of 2 of their players, yes steroid use, the NFL has all kinds of approved weight-loss products that can be legally used and these 2 sisters didn't have the smarts to look-up the NFL's CBA which has an approved substance list, a list that does not have Starcaps on it by the way.In other news, the 2 New Orleans Saints players, Charles Grant and Will Smith will be suspended for using the exact same illegal substance that the Minnesota Williams' Sisters used. Nothing like even handed justice. The Vikings cheat... it's now the official motto of the Justice Dept. in Minnesota. My condolences to the awesome sister tennis stars Venus & Serena Williams, they actually have game, but who knew that those 2 fat DT's (they must be fat, they claimed they were trying to lose weight) Kevin and Pat looked just like them, at least in the photo from training camp that Ruppert forwarded in. BeerKid - Always Pack 4 Life! |
| _________________________________________ 31-20 Packers. Bears suck. Jake Utler sucks. Expect to see every Vikings player start shooting 'roids tomorrow. They can basically take all the masking agent they want now, with no fear of retribution (provided it's their first offense). So why not? They can always stop once they get busted once. Once again the legal system of our great nation proves ridiculous. This issue will go to the US Supreme Court--watch. Ruppert Hey Ruppert... you must be my lost brother from another mother... here's what I said someplace else earlier today - "actually this is really good news for the Vikings.... now every single player can start shooting up Steroids, which has always been legal with a prescription from your team's doctor, now that the NFL CBA doesn't hold true in Minnesota anymore... seriously, they can, and with the help of a Judge who roots for the Vikings, your trial date will be years down the road long after you retire from the game." BK _________________________________________ ![]() Vikes Super Bowl hopes | Pinned upon graybeard Brett Favre | Viva Favragra! | http://www.FavreHaiku.com Favre Haiku _________________________________________ So the "Ironman" of the NFL, the guy who has never missed a start, the toughest QB to ever pull on a helmet may not "finish the year". I have heard of lowering expectations, but that one made me spew milk out my nose holes. Favre is clearly trying to play the "old man" card because even he knows that the Vikes have a few week spots and will likely lose at least a few games. I am going to say 10 wins, but that depends a bit on how well the rest of the North plays. Packer fans can be a superstitious lot when it comes to talking smart about what "we are going to do". We want to see them actually do it and act like they have been to the end zone before. It is hard not to be a bit excited about the clearly confident Packers of 09. I don't see anyone bragging, I just see a very confident bunch who can't wait to make it official. I don't think the Packers intend to let up on the old man when they get to the RollerDomeHome of the Yikes. draftfan Hey draftfan, yes, it would seem that BF is covering all of his bases for failure, my arm was so messed up last year my Jets coach should have benched me, I missed all of off-season work-outs, so I don't have my timing down with all my new WR's, besides, I have cracked rib, and rotator cuff problems, and.... ![]() | It's opening weekend for NFL Football and they have placed the Packers Bears 178th matchup on NBC Sunday Night Football, and it's going to be a wild one, for the Packers anyway. The Bears have not improved their bottom 3rd in the league defense from last year, have not improved their WR's by continuing to claim that Devin Hester is a No. 1 WR, all they have done is sacrificed their depth to get a decent QB in Jay Cutler on the team. The Packers offense is going to be near-unstoppable Sunday night, the defense will get 2 turnovers resulting with a Packers 33-16 win. Beer Kid |

Spew Off Speak Out...
How is it that some analysts (John Clayton ESPN for example - See #1) keep insisting that the Vikings are the most bestus most magnifico NFL team they've seen all summer long. Are the Vikings that deep at all positions to justify this playoff-certainly super bowl-eventually nonsense we Packers fans keep hearing. I don't think so... Top RBs in Peterson and Taylor. Top G in Hutchinson. Top DL with the Williams's and Allen. Top CB with Winfield, I guess... Ok at LB's, OK at QB with Favre... and??? Besides running back depth and DL depth, the Packers are better at all starters and positional depth by far. (excluding RT)Here's something that's worth reading for a few minutes, A Banner Summer In These Parts from Kevin Seifert's NFC North blog at ESPN.com and another is the Packers Team Preview prediction article, also from over at ESPN.com. Fourteen of their analyst's each write a small blurb and predict out Green Bay's finish in the NFC North. Their consensus is 2nd place. Our consensus (the Presagin' Packer Prognosticators aka playgroup in my mind) was of course, first place, NFC North Champions with a 10 - 6 record. Record your prediction with us for posterity's sake. That Viking fan pic used above is one of my all-time favorites, it's not that he has one, nooooooo, he has 2 super bowl trophies scrawled on his tummy - plus the pic is at least 5 years old and by my estimation, the Vikings are still not going anywhere for awhile. Speak Out Spew Off...
Not too much of a surprise here, but the Green Bay Packers are starting off the season as the least-oldest team in the NFL this year, finishing 32nd of the 32 teams by coming in with a young 26.16 years as the average age on the roster. As to the rest of the NFC North, we have the Chicago Bears ranked 15th - 27.02, Minnesota Vikings at 8th - 27.48, and the Detroit Lions are coming in as the 5th oldest team - 27.62 years. Some other notables are the Washington Redskins who are the NFL's oldest team at 28.02 years, and the Indianapolis Colts are the 2nd youngest team at 26.34 years of age. Here's the story and chart by ESPN's Mike Sando - Three of Nine Oldest Teams in NFC West if you're interested. I wonder what the Vikings average age would change to, let's actually say drop to, without a 39 soon-to-be 40 QB on the roster??? Just asking.... (Editorial Note: Use 15 years age difference, 39 to 24 and your new team average is around 27.19 years - 11th on the list, 3 spots. In the end, hardly worth the effort or mentioning... but yet we did.) BeerKid - Always Pack 4 Life! |

Your 2009 Green Bay Packers...
The Packers have now swung the chainsaw back and forth a few times, and then to make double extra-sure, a few more rips here and there, several times more than necessary but ensuring the extra splattering of blood and gore is in all bloody directions proportionately, and it is. The resulting trim to the training camp bloated roster, now healthily pared down to the limit, the 53 men who will represent the Green Bay Packers in this upcoming 2009 season. Nice!A surprise cut here and off goes QB Brian Brohm to sink amongst the flotsam, destined for a lifeline rescue on the Practice Squad. Well, maybe not. Another surprise trade, only a surprise in that someone wanted OL Tony Moll, but involved in a trade that brought in DB Derrick Martin from the Ravens. To no one's surprise, and I mean no one in the universe's surprise, DL Justin Harrell is unable to play this year, and joined by CB Patrick Lee is on Injured Reserve, their services lost for the year. Some late-ish breaking news is that S Anthony Smith and WR Ruvell Martin have been cut in favor of newcomer DB Derrick Martin (insert Aaron Rouse or Brandon Underwood or Jarrett Bush instead if you like) and WR Brett Swain respectively. It is what it is... Here's Packers.Com's full Packers roster by name. |

Perhaps the biggest surprise was Sutton. He looked like a lock, but I guess they did not expect him to play much. The Packers might have their eyes on a couple of rejects from other teams and they decided to make room now. It is always a cat and mouse game and by releasing good players who won't get to play right away, they forced other teams who want those players to cut the ones they don't need. The Packers may already have a good eye on who wants Sutton, Martin, etc. and will be watching the wire for additions. draftfan Hey draftfan, it was surprise that TT gave up on Brian Brohm, but then his talent wasn't standing out on 2nd/3rd string like LB Desmond Bishop talent was for example. It's early Sunday yet, so I'm sure TT will do something besides fill out the Practice Squad from just his players that were cut, although you would guess that Tyrell Sutton, Jamon Meredith, Jake Allen and a few others are headed for there. BK _____________________________________ McCarthy likes the 2 TE set, and the 5 WR set. I guess he likes the 3 FB set, too... I'm pretty surprised Smith got whacked, but they ARE replacing him Martin, another 3 year vet from a good, 34 defense. Martin can play both CB and Safety and will give more on special teams. Maybe Smith just gambled too much for their liking. I thought Sutton or Lumpkin would stick. I'm pretty shocked they didn't hang onto Brohm, because Thompson likes "his guys." Although I don't care because he sucks. I like Underwood and Jones both, so I'm glad they're still around. I like Meredith, too. I really hope Meredith and Sutton stick on the Practice Squad. Thompson is a genius for getting anything worth more than 50 pesos for Moll. Ruppert Hey ruppert, I am going to have to admit that I'm not prepared for the 3 FB offense... but I can imagine that McCarthy is thinking aggressively about it now... and with the 50 pesos for Tony Moll, the Ravens are probably just as gassed that they got 50 pesos for Derrick Martin, who finished the last 12 games on IR last year. BK _____________________________________Oh, they got some new, kinda cool designs over at sconnie.com. Joe just got one of these t-shirts (hehehe... Worst State Ever) >>>>>>> Lovie is going to be ready for the Pack next Sunday night -- we gotta really kick their ass at Lambeau this time!!! TBSS Boz _____________________________________ So b@#rs suck. ok viqueens.ok lions.n'uff said, but did you catch Trudy Bergen (Grandma) on NFL net, about how favre broke her heart??......I swear dude if I ever see ya...Big Ern....well you know!!I can't wait till we get it on.The last thing Trudy says in tha interview is this."I wish [favra] nothing but success and GO PACK GO!!!!! LOVE YOU Trudy!!!! NFC CENTRAL FANS ALL know GREENBAY RULES!!! the rest are a joke! Also GO das.wolf in NOR CAL Rancho Cordova holdin' it's own for PACKER faithfull in Cali!!!! Cheese is Cheese ma' man!!!!!! Big Ern said so!!!! Hey Big Ern... I saw that interview with Grandma Trudy... it was hilarious, the "I'm rooting for BF to do well, even though technically with him as a Viking, I'm not anymore..." routine. BK _____________________________________ Hey BK what up? Great Saturday to you. I got up at sunrise poured myself a red beer and then hoisted my Husker flag and my Wisky flag up the pole. If the two ever played I would have to root for the Skers. I have an idea. How about when Favre takes the field at Lambeau the whole stadium just turns their back looks away from the field in total silence. They need to pass out this idea with whatever little free oven mit or what ever the hell they are giving out that day. That would be the ultimate burn (thank you that 70's show). Sconnie nation good luck to the Badgers and I can't wait to get up there for the Bengal game. Mellonhead Hey Mellonhead, a combo Badger Husker saturday.... a smart choice, 2 teams to root for on college game days, and being up with the sunrise, you must get twice the drinking in too... Packer Palace Predicts...
Saturday, August 15, 2008 - Another year, another prediction coming from the still smoking ashes and debris of last summer's Brett Favre saga and the Packers un-eventful record of 6-10 that put them in 3rd place in the NFC North, an anomaly us fans are not used too for sure. Now this year, GM Ted Thompson and head coach Mike McCarthy have beefed up defensive coaching staff by acquiring Dom Capers and Kevin Greene, they've added a few new rookies in LB Clay Matthews and DT B.J. Raji whom are expected to contribute heavily in any success the defense will have. Even though there are offensive line questions galore, LT Chad Clifton's knees, and the whole right side of the line, those will work themselves out and the Packers are set to return to the top of the NFC North. The Bears have set themselves up to be all-in this year, new QB in Jay Cutler, a decent RB in Matt Forte, but it's the same old tired defense led by LB Brian Urlacher that couldn't get past 8 wins last year and don't expect them to this year either for that matter. Now the Vikings are sliding down, and are going to suffer from their QB woes, Sage Rosenfels looks better that Tavaris Jackson (where's Brett Favre when you need him?) and from the two DT's, Pat Williams and Kevin Williams, expected to each miss 4 games for abusing the NFL's drug policy. The Vikings may be the defending NFC North champions, but they are not repeating this year and despite having RB Arian Peterson. They are going to struggle to break .500. The Lions are the Lions, new coaching staff with Jim Schwartz, the same front office (despite getting rid of ex-GM Matt Millen, still kept the other 2 responsible for the 0-16 record). They do have better players on their roster, but questions remain at QB, neither the rookie Matt Stafford nor Daunte Culpepper are going to get this team beyond 5 wins. |
| Now having said all that, and drinking our share of the Green N Gold koolaid, we do see the Packers reaching 10 wins this year, and that should be enough to get them to the top of the NFC North... ...tell us where we're wrong:

Packers get rolled by the Titans 13-27 in the preseason finale that was having trouble holding my interest... QB Brian Brohm did't slide any further down the crap slope and will maintain one of the three QB positions on the team. Playing amongst the reserves, RB Tyrell Sutton and ILB Desmond Bishop continue to stand out in their efforts. QB Aaron Rodgers had a most awesome 'stache going on, gone is the shaggy woodsman beard, and now the Magnum PI moustache. Probably shortlived, as in late game sideline interview mentioned shaving it off this week. Quick hit on the predicted Packers 53 man roster and Practice Squad... |

Practice Squad
|
| There was no effort to guess on any trades involving T Tony Moll or IR moves involving DL Justin Harrell or outside the team Practice Squad movement... just pre-editing last year's post for this years cut-ment and whittling away some player names and the above is what I ended up with. Already things I might change... *** Updated *** to show reality... and the Practice Squad isn't even finished being filled out yet. Now it is... above is the updated with corrections 53 man Packers roster along with the 8 man Practice Squad. BeerKid - Always Pack 4 Life! |
| _____________________________________ BK, you're one of the few people on earth that agree with my thought that they'll keep Kuhn over Korey Hall. Kuhn is 15 pounds heavier, gets open for the occasional TD, and even runs the ball now and then. Hall doesn't have a single rushing attempt in 2 years, and as a former LB, probably wouldn't get one this year. I think/hope Jones might make it over Lansanah, even though TT loves Lans. I wish to hell Harrell would make a miraculous recovery, just so Montgomery could end up unemployed. Ruppert Hey Ruppert, on Korey Hall vs John Kuhn, you got that analysis right, Hall seems more athletic, but Kuhn makes plays. Not picking LB Brad Jones over Danny Lansanah is one of those lingering thoughts I might do over, until recently, I hadn't realized that Lansanah was a game-day active special teamer the last half of last year. BK _____________________________________ Is it JUST ME ? or do others find it hard to warm up to Rodgers. The 'stache'....good grief! Have we seen any sign of a personality from him anywhere in interviews, media, etc? (I am not talking anything about his QB talent -- I am fine with that.) Is he shy? inverted? 'er what ~ What do you think BK? Lemondrop Hey Lemondrop, in regards to QB Aaron Rodgers comfort zone off the field, any other place than GB maybe we'd see more out of him, but in Wisconsin he's still under No. 4's gigantic shadow, even more so with BF in border-state Minnesota trying to continue his career, as we pointed out in July 2008 - Beware: Chilling Tales of Horror that Rodgers will be pursued by BF's ghost right up until the... dun-dunt-dun-DUNNNTTTT... end of his playing days, AR will always be asked about BF. BK _____________________________________ WELL.PACKERS LOOKING VERY GOOD..........BRETT'S A BIT RUSTY.......SHOULD BE A FUN FILLED YEAR FOR NFC NORTH...........HANG ON.THIS IS GOING TO A SUPER FUN YEAR..THE NORTH IS BACK................. I will grab a six pack or 4 and send out to you in the coming weeks as a thanks for all you do at the Palace. CAMP Hey Camp, that would be much appreciated for a Packers game day in the near future, and that's a fine way to thank us. Walters back on the market!!!I have to thank Walters (and Camp) for the pricing updates, and the many returned memories of learning how to love the taste of beer while growing up amongst friends and family whom almost always had a case of Walters Special sitting down in the basement waiting for that special everyday moment to be consumed. You also have to love the original Hospitality Center at the original Brewery... yes yes, that's 2 spouts sticking out of a cement wall with the glasses and cleaning brush drying rack right there for easy use... all of this by the way was in the room where they rinsed and sprayed the barrels for re-use. It was an awesome place never to be duplicated again... in any beerdrinker's lifetime. You can click on the pic for a larger view. BK _____________________________________ Sept 13th. Bail money set aside. It's GO TIME b@*rs. Big Ern said so!!!! Hey Big Ern, I must say, you my friend, are completely prepared for the 178th Packers Bears Monster Mash-up to be held at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. The Bears Still Suck! BK _____________________________________ Just wondering how many games the Packers would have to win this year to get some folks off Ted Thompson's back. It is starting to look like the Packers are going to be very good this year. Some of the credit has to go to Thompson including the hiring of Dom Capers and the promising draft picks from this year's crop. draftfan Hey draftfan, there are some folks who will only be happy when TT's left GB... in my mind he's done alright, maybe misses an opportunity here or there where he could do more... still surprised that BF and TT couldn't resolve their differences last summer, and I always thought that former D-coach Jim Bates dumped his alleged protege Bob Sanders on the Pack, so Dom Capers is a great choice to run the Packers D. BK _____________________________________ Hey Beerkid just calling it like I see it. Once Brent is finished with da Queens. I'll go back to loving his Wrangler wearing hillbilly ass. | _____________________________________ This site rocks! ![]() Bill Bartmann _____________________________________ FAVRETIRE >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Halverson Hey Halverson, thanks for scouring the web for odds and ends so we don't have to. I thought it needed a touch of some purple... to make it look more current and authentic, even though it will be another year before the retirement drama gets a chance to return. Without the purple, FAVERETIRE a featured t-shirt over at Alternative Hero and as for the old joke you sent in, we have much more of the same than you'll care to read in one sitting in the Joke Archives and the Joke Archives Page 2. BK _____________________________________ Hey BK, Isn't writing that it is a Favre free issue then not make it a Favre free issue? They just couldn't help themselves....besides, I hear that this is just their way of spoofing on 'ol Brett, following ESPN's little stab. Lovin the Pack's progress in the preseason! Hope this is a sneak-peak of things to come this year! GO PACK GO!!! Lady K Hey Lady K, you're right on the technical level that by mentioning BF on the cover (see below) of its issue, SI couldn't be 100% Favre Free... more like 99.9%. The Pack's progress is happening during pre-season, but yes, the Packers 1st team offense looks explosive, with the 1st team defense almost getting the same exact praise... BK _____________________________________ RE: the SI Favre-free blurb in the upper left corner of the current cover. didn't SI just draw attention to Favre by placing that there? i mean, if it were truly a Favre-free edition, why place that there in the first place? seems to defeat the purpose. Jeff Ircink Hey Jeff, you and Lady K are on the same wave-length... but more people across the country laughed at it than didn't. BeerScout had to prove to himself that it was real because myself, being known as a Favre-a-Hatinater™ and all that goes with that label. That I would be easily taken in by a photoshopped parody making fun of BF. BK _____________________________________ Toast! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jim _____________________________________ I totally was caught off guard when Mrs. Big Ern called me to see the sight of brent favre in that adorable purple costume but the wave of nausea still made me swim and after a sincere apology from mrs. and a few cold ones I remembered how good the real Packers are and I was able to go on. GO PACK GO (suck it b@*rs.) Big Ern said so!!!! _____________________________________ This is by me:
Chilly: "Hi Brett!!! I like your shirt, Brett. You look real good today, Brett. I like those jeans on you too. Those Wranglers? Nice. Hold on a sec, Brett, I got to talk to Tavaris. Hey Tavaris, Brett just told me that you said "hello" to him just a couple of minutes ago. Is that true? Well, you just got yourself a big fine, young man! I wasn't kidding when I talked to you about addressing Brett. That's easy money in the bank for Chilli! Now you just need to shut up and go finish cleaning Brett's dishes from his lunch. Anyway, Brett...Now that "he's" gone. Will you sit next to me during half time? Awesome! Hey, did I tell you that you can have my car? Because you are so cool, dude, that's why I am giving to you!! It is my pleasure, Brett. Brett, Brett wait...there is something I have to tell you. Brett, they still aren't done with your locker room yet...I am so sorry and I will take the blame on this one. Brett, I want you to hit me in the arm. Really hard. I deserve it. Okay, go... Ow! Hey, Brett, that kind of hurt!. It's cool though. I totally deserved it. Hey Brett..Did I tell you that you look real good today? Oh, I did. Sorry. Brett, 'nother question: Did I put too much scented oil on your feet when I massaged them earlier? I am sorry, man. I just get carried away, sometimes. Hold on a minute, Brett. I gotta tell the team something. Hey guys! Attention! I need you to avert your gaze when Brett dons his new jersey tonight. Just look at the ground or something. And you should probably get down on your knees too. I heard that, Tavaris! You better watch it, young man! Okay, now get back to painting that mural of Brett in his cool wrangler jeans. Hey Brett, I want to follow up on that team color change you were talking about. The boys upstairs are probably going to go with it. I mean I think you're right, Brett, Purple is kind of a gay color. Anyway, I should know by the end of the game for you. Hold on a sec, Brett. I have to tell the team something. Attention, Team! There are some of you who still haven't picked your dates for cleaning Brett's house and mowing his lawn. I need that calendar completely filled up by the end of the night. Pick six days like I told you. Tavaris, I saw you erased your name from Christmas and now you just got another fine. I am really at my rope's end with you! Okay, so sorry Brett. Anyway, about tonight's game. Yes, of course you are calling all of the plays. And yes, we got rid of that stupid defense system we have been using for the last couple of years. Good call, Brett! I can't believe I wasted all this time on that crap. Oh yeah, and Adrian is cool with you calling him "Randy." Also, I am cool with all the guys calling you "Coach" during the game. No Problem, big guy!! Hey Brett, can I give you a ride home in your new car tonight after the game? You can put whatever you want on the radio. No, we don't have to talk. You will? Cool! Awesome!!!!! Yeah!! Tavaris! I need you to get the team vaccuum and clean out my car! I mean, Brett's car!! You don't have anything else to do tonight. And quit crying! Can you believe him, Brett? Sheez. Taveris, just get out of here, you are sooo embarrassing! Sorry, Brett, Sorry. What's that? You have to go to the bathroom? Hey, can I come with you and be your "shaker? Cool!!! Awesome!!! YEAH,BABY! Hey Everybody! Clear out of the can! Brett's coming in and Chilli's got a job to do!!" _____________________________________ |

Last training camp practice is today - so please make the time and join us in chatting up the Packers. I've got my Cheesehead TV coffee mug loaded up with my specialized coffee --- that's Yuban coffee, a light sprinkling of baking chocolate, and then brewed up to be mixed with Vanilla Frappacino --- not bad for breakfast substitute when you don't have any of that Redhook Nut Brown Ale in a frosted glass sitting around. There are two things on my mind today... the first, is the whole Mason Crosby missed the 53 yard FG that would have given the Packers the win last year in the Metrodome.... yeah, well, doesn't anyone remember the 3 plays before that? I do, run up the middle -

Ruppert
You know it doesn't bug me that Chad Ochocinco wants to Lambeau Leap this Sunday... the fans can treat him the way they do most leaps, by spilling beer, grabbing parts, slapping butts and all around general posing for the camera behavior. The best line I heard is that after the leap, the fans should start passing Ochocinco up towards the edge of the Stadium... heh heh eh, ala Camp Randall.

She's back with more of her interviews from the ESPY's pre-party festivities, and this time Michelle pulls through with an interview from none other than Green Bay Packers starting QB Aaron Rodgers.
This time Michelle corners Minnesota Vikings DE Jaren Allen with another of her interviews from the ESPY's pre-party festivities earlier this year.
Well it's official - Both the Williams' Sisters - Vikqueens DT's Kevin and Pat got off from being suspended for using a banned substance called Starcaps. Nothing like a little Minnesota State Justice to tip the tables as much as possible in the Vikqueens favor. So the Vikings will start off this season exactly the same way last season ended, by cheating, by masking the steroid use of 2 of their players, yes steroid use, the NFL has all kinds of approved weight-loss products that can be legally used and these 2 sisters didn't have the smarts to look-up the NFL's CBA which has an approved substance list, a list that does not have Starcaps on it by the way.

How is it that some analysts (

Not too much of a surprise here, but the Green Bay Packers are starting off the season as the least-oldest team in the NFL this year, finishing 32nd of the 32 teams by coming in with a young 26.16 years as the average age on the roster. As to the rest of the NFC North, we have the Chicago Bears ranked 15th - 27.02, Minnesota Vikings at 8th - 27.48, and the Detroit Lions are coming in as the 5th oldest team - 27.62 years.

Nice!
