Packers 2nd Place NFC North 7-4...
Feels like Monday morning... but I guess it's only Saturday, many are still in the woods looking for the largely over-reported herds of deer that are still successfully outwitting the hunters up to this point... Packers succeed on a big Thanksgiving Day game for their 3rd straight win by downing the Detroit Lions 34-12. A hat-tip to Stone's Ruination IPA for the assist in keeping the game exciting and relevant while I was fighting to keep my eyes open during the game from the 2nd straight day of my coma induced food overdose of turkey, stuffing, taters & yams...It was close, but RB Ryan Grant's elbow was down before he fumbled in the end-zone... kind of hilarious actually, coach Mike McCarthy throwing the red challenge flag to make sure it was a Safety, and not Lions TD. That might be the 2nd time the coach has done that... with the Lions only getting a FG on the ensuing drive, for 5 points total instead of the TD from this fiasco, it was a modest 2 point advantage to the Pack. Worth the challenge. Rodgers Rolled, Stafford Struggled, Culpepper Fumed, Woodson Shined, etc, etc I could go on all day... Driver Dominated... A great game, a ThanksKilling Day Special! BeerKid - Always Pack 4 Life! |
| _________________________________________ Great ThanksKilling day game for our boys.... BUT our mission is far from complete.... we have a certain team we MUST meet again in the playoffs... and unless we do... the season is a waste. Thanks to Theo JONNY C_________________________________________ The Detroit Dandelions were blown away Thankgiving Day. Now comes the real teat against a hardnosed football team with a QB that is struggling. Will the Red Zone be the Dead Zone for the Pack? Pigeons >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jim _________________________________________ BK--Injury aside, I don't know how much we should adjust for any player. I hear fans(?)bitching about AK and others not getting sacks etc. What is the TEAM defense ranking this year compared to last year. dfarmer Hey dfarmer, why according to the stats at NFL.Com - in yards allowed from scrimmage the Packers' defense is 1st in the NFL... 12th in points allowed. Compared to last season's 20th and 22nd... the Packers D is playing much better. and why hell, it shows. The Pack already has 1 more win than last year. _________________________________________ Johnny Jolly is the new Gilbert Brown! #66 Chica _________________________________________ RE: Woodson - Not only is he having another All-Pro year, but he made a $2M donation to Mott Childrens Hospital at the Univ. of Mich a week or so ago. He is a class act. Jim _________________________________________I was glad that I didn't have to watch that infuriatingly silly rolling hand motion of Culpepper's !! Go Pack !! One hand motion that I do miss is Big 'Ol Gilbert Brown's grave digger, but Jolly's hands in the QB's face is pretty cool. Scott of Chippewa Falls _________________________________________ Happy WIN! Dulpepper fumed is right... heh, heh. I got a kick out of that. I couldn't believe how, with the game out of reach and Stafford wincing in pain before, during, and after every throw, the Lions coaches left him in there! For crying out loud, way to try to ruin your 21-year old #1 draft pick QB! So the Pack gets almost a second bye-week now... good for the team, but bad for ME. I get no Packers fix today. #66 Chica _________________________________________ 7-4, wildcard leader for the moment. It's great to see this team finally winning in spite of their weaknesses, and the bad things that invariably happen during the course of a game. Last year, they couldn't do that. Let's hope it's a permanent development. The Pack is definitely playing better now than at any point this year. And if they keep Aaron off his ass, they can play with anybody. Charles Woodson for president. Ruppert Hey Ruppert, I will 2nd that "Woodson for President" recommendation and now expecting at least one road playoff game for the Packers, and then a showdown against the Saints or Vikings again. This could be charmed yet. BK _________________________________________ BK -- Kampmen's injury screws everything up but WILL he be a free agent next year with no labor agreement??? His sacks are down but team defense is rated higher than last year and isn't that what we want??? ![]() dfarmer Hey dfarmer, it's what us fans want, but it may not be what soon to be free agent AK wants. He may be looking elsewhere for a 4-3 defense again... I believe the Pack should adjust a little bit on defense, AK is primarily a pass-rushing DE, then run-stuffer, then chase the TE down the field in pass coverage kind of guy... you have to design his role to take advantage of his strengths and then there's the money. AK's injury screws up TT's position on trading, or franchising him as much as screwing up AK's position for free agency. AK may have played his last game as a Packer... BK _________________________________________ Ok, I'm too musically illiterate to pull this off, but will someone PLEASE take that New York song that's on the radio alll the time now (Jay-Z & Alicia Keys' "Empire State Of Mind"), and change the lyrics and name to fit "Green Bay - Cheesehead State of Mind"??? If you've heard it, you know what I'm talking about and you KNOW it's begging for a Packer version!! Where are the Wedgies when you need them?? Statmark Hey Statmark, sorry, I neither have that kind of talent... and even though you provided the lyric breakdowns, nor time to pull it off. Go Pack! BK _________________________________________ |

Speak Out Spew Off...
| It's only 26-1/2 hours until kickoff and I feel like starting the countdown by getting the pre-game partying started now!!! Right now! Packers are shuffling around behind the scenes trying to figure out if their defense is going to hold up against the Lions with Al Harris and Aaron Kampman gone for the year due to injured knees. Good thing it's the Lions that are first up on the slate. This Thanksgiving Day game won't be any kind of push-over for the Pack, but by staying focused, they should easily beat the weaker Lions team and run away with the game at Ford Field. Enjoy the Holiday. Happy Hunting! Happy Thanksgiving! Go Pack Go... Go Pack Go... Go Pack Go... Go Pack Go... BeerKid - Always Pack 4 Life!_____________________________________ Very interesting.... TT is the Turkey.... MM is the egg laid... hmmm, are your subconscious thoughts emerging? Scott in Chippewa Falls Hey Scott in CF, nothing subconscious about the reference at all, as an "engaged" Packer fan, I expect my team to win every week, and when I find effort lacking in either the front office or on the field, all sorts of things start bubbling and emerging to the surface. BK _____________________________________ Still think maybe Kampmen may not be suited for 3-4 so maybe trade him for what you can get??????? dfarmer Hey dfarmer, Kampman is a free agent after this year, we would have to "tag" him and then trade him... maybe. He's still a pretty decent pass-rushing DE and there's no reason to always run a pure 3-4 on every play... Both Aaron Kampan and Al Harris are facing the same situation Mark Tauscher was facing last year. Can they be ready before the season starts and if not, then it's natural for the Packers to want them both back on the team. BK _____________________________________ I hope our stuffing comes in a Stove Top box, and not out of the mouth of a Lion. Boy, no Harris or Kampman ----- Happy Turkey Day BeerKid ! and all fellow Packer fans ! Lemondrop Hey Lemondrop, it was a local brand cornbread stuffing and it was awesome under gravy. I didn't want too many distractions today during the game so I just went ahead and baked the turkey, yams, potatoes, rolls and corn yesterday and feasted until it hurts.... it's morning and I'm still full... Happy Thanksgiving! BK _____________________________________ I love Thanksgiving and I love the Green Bay Packers - put 'em both together and it doesn't get any better than that. GO PACK! Open up a can of whoop-ass tomorrow to go along with our turkey dinner! omg, (btw great Rockwood this week BK) #66 Chica _____________________________________ Bleeder: It's bad enough that your assbag QB can sit there and tell us all what "true Packers fans" are supposed to think. Then you sit there and suggest that Packers fans shouldn't like the notion that your pathetic team is going to leave town? It's hilarious. The most popular sport on earth, and you fools can't even sell out a stadium every week without last-second help from local businesses. The NFL would be better off if the drag queens moved to some place with fans that would actually show they cared about their team by splurging for a game ticket instead of trolling blogs of the other teams in the division and whining. Go follow the queens to L.A. and take Jeff Ear-Stink with you. Ruppert _____________________________________ SCHRADES is so right! Who doesn't Hate the viqueens? Any time I do, every one around will chuckle or get a lick in too. -Cathartic for all! I razz bears fans, too, but only on principle (they do still suck). My hate for the bears is tinged with respect. Not so the queens. Total hate, lack of respect, and physical revulsion for the purple wearing whiners. Blast From The Past...
Packers 2nd Place NFC North 6-4...
Packers first overwhelm the 49ers in the first half, and then ease up a bit in the 2nd half and outlast the Niners 30-24. Improving their record to 6-4 puts the Packers in the 6th NFC Wildcard position. At this point in the year it comes down to the NFC Conference record, with the Pack's 5-3 fitting between both 6-4 teams the Eagles at 5-2 and the Giants at 4-3. Now the Pack need to finish the season by winning out....Tough injuries to DE (oops! OLB) Aaron Kampman and CB Al Harris, both suffered knee injuries that may affect their season. Kampman walked off the field, and then rode in the passenger's seat of the injury cart to the locker room, so with 6 games left we'll see if plays anymore this year. According to reports, Al Harris was unable to put any weight on his injured knee so that's a good indicator that he's done for the year. Big win on the playoff front, and then tough losses on the injury front. That's why it's called the National Football League! BeerKid - Always Pack 4 Life! |
| ___________________________________ I sure hope the Viqueens do not move to California. The Packers need the Queens like Batman needs the Joker. We need the 0-4 Queen Super Bowl Mystique, if for no other reason to work off our misplaced hate. Wife nags, queens fault, kids get bad grades, something Childress did, work sucks, blame it on Minnesota. I hate them with every fiber of being and that's good, its healthy, we need that. And I don't care if my hate isn't grounded in any logic other than, "well, I hate them!" It means something to me to have them there, to hate them so much that I need them for my own mental health. Come on Packer Fans...FEEL THE HATE! GO PACKERS!!! SCHRADES ___________________________________ Hey Beerkid, "Sweet vic-tor-y" but at a very high price. Both Al and Aaron are gone for the season. "D'OH!" We need Kampman back on the squad next season and seasons to come, otherwise Da-Queens will scoop him up and another high profile player will be lost to the "Dark Side"... I mean seriously, can you imagine the "Mullet" and Kampman on the same team?? Can you hear me THEODORE!!??!!? With the game in the balance and A-ROD having a career game (and Al and Aaron carted off to the locker room) I was reliving the Tampa Bay game in my head and thinking to myself, "Self... I think Coach 'Not in the Right Mind Set' McCarthy may want to bring in his pet dogs at night if we lose this game." Once again his play calling was "suspect" in the stretch and if S.F. had at least an extra time out and 3 more minutes on the clock there could have been an alternative ending. Also, one last thing, could we find a return man for punts who will attack the ball on the fly and sacrifice his body and mind to bring "the rock" to the end zone instead of letting the ball hit the turf and allow the offense an additional 10-20 yards to work with??? C'mon Tramon, it's time to MAN UP and catch those balls. Let's take De-Toilet and run the F'n table to the playoffs!!! GO PACK GO AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE!!! PACKER PAUL - Minneapolis, MN. ___________________________________ Consider this: Da bears gave up TWO #1 picks, two #2s, and Kyle Orton for Jay Cutler. Plus they threw another $50 million at him earlier this year. Oh man, you think that organization might be having a little "buyer's remorse" right now? Granted, the guy's got squat to work with around him, but given all they gave up for him, they're not exactly going to be able to wheel-and-deal to get big-name talent in the door. The way I see it, da bears are screwed for a long, long time... You minnesota fans have waffled over a new stadium, more than favre's waffled over retiring -- if anybody could ever believe that. If you fans and your owner would shut-up, and pay-up for a new stadium, we wouldn't even be talking about this. Actually the vikings leaving minnesota would be a fantastic thing for me. It'd mean that they wouldn't blackout the Packers games, and I could see 'em all without paying the $300 the NFL ticket... When you quit your whining and jump ship, you too, can become a Packer Fan! Speak Out Spew Off...
Some quick words on the departure of QB Brian Brohm from off the Packers Practice Squad and onto the Buffalo Bills active roster. Doesn't matter too much whether GM Ted Thompson offered to match the money (and some say he didn't quite actually do that over a bonus) or HC Mike McCarthy offered Brohm a roster spot on the Packers roster. As a QB, Brohm never seemed to "get it" here and when pressed he was always high and late on his throws. Not saying that QB Matt Flynn is much better, it just that Flynn will pull it down and take off running. Which is effective at moving the chains and getting first downs, well, more effective than Brohm at it. If I was GM I would have released Brohm earlier this year during camp cut-downs. But good luck to Brian, I wish him no ill will, and hopefully he'll "get it" and continue his NFL Career in Buffalo. Although that's been a recent graveyard for young QB's to make it in the NFL, it's a better chance than being in Green Bay behind Aaron Rodgers and Matt Flynn. I saw today that C Scott Wells has been cleared to play this weekend for the Packers in the 49ers game this Sunday. It was always close to whether Jason Spitz had really beat him out during the preseason, and it's luckier for GB still that TT didn't trade Wells away because it won't matter what's happened to Spitz, (Editorial Note: Spitz is on IR, so that means Evan Dietrich-Smith is the backup) the Pack need Wells to be running in prime condition for all the rest of the games this year if the Pack have a chance at anything. (p.s. - Why doesn't Beer Scout ever post here?) #66 Chica Hey #66 Chica...in reference to your "Why doesn't Beer Scout ever post here?" question. It's simple, he's smarter than me and was able to somehow with feigned disinterest finagle his way out of answering the email and that attitude naturally ended up being extended to the blog. BeerScout has provided much of the raw character material in images and the animations for the website every year since, well, forever... so he's not completely useless. I've been to the 'old' Lambeau, and the new, and I think the renovated stadium is a class job. It left the priceless jewel (the bowl) intact, while upgrading the stuff all-around. It's THE best-looking 'retro' stadium in the NFL, period. Are you sure you're not thinking of the "Mall of America at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodump"? Methinks you must be... #66 Chica ______________________________ it's a start, BK...the Dallas win. i know that 1250 am sports in Milwaukee with Leroy Butler (guest) and Gary Ellerson and the hosts were SCREAMING at each other regarding what this win meant. it was interesting. the host (i think) was still saying that, though it was a win, questions still abound and he's basically at the same mindset he was before about the Pack. Butler was defending the Pack - saying, 'why are we "on their asses" when they won the game?' anyway, it's intriguing for me to hear the discussion while i'm not supporting the Pack. and it's difficult not being able to enjoy watching Packer games with my father (who supports Favre and the Packers but really would rather just SLEEP...he's 72). jeff ircink ______________________________ |

![]() | Is this one of those rip-tide phenomenon's where a rock-steady pull is beginning to tug us Packer fans along with the uprising fortunes of the 5-4 Packers? Blast From The Past...
Packers 2nd Place NFC North 5-4...
Even the consolation TD in the closing moments of the game by the Cowboys couldn't stop the big smiles from all of us Packer fans worldwide as our team, the Green Bay Packers put a beat down on Dallas 17-7 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. Yeah Baby!!! That still gives the Pack an outside chance, well they are currently tied with four teams at 5-4 for the 2 wildcard spots, Eagles get one with their NFC conference record, and the Falcons get the other, I think because of the Pack's loss to Tampa Bay. So barely on the outside looking in...Now to get caught up on with some other things, like the 30 some odd posts by all of the volunteer contributors to Packer Palace since the game Sunday. Just need to go through them and clean them up some here and there and approve them. (Editorial Question: When have you ever dis-approved a comment? BeerKid: Why every comment, ahem, every valuable contribution offered has been published, a few were unfortunately lost to my 7-thumb typing technique, and the worst one was "**** **" starred out for it's entire length due to offensive content directed at a player.) We haven't won the Cheesehead TV's award for best designed site by letting all the staff run around wild.... did you? Got to keep things all clean and tidy. Now back to talkin' the Packers. I remember ages ago when I joined some friends to visit their cabin on the lake over by Antigo, learned how to water ski, learned how to tandem ski with another shoulder to shoulder, so a girl could be up on our shoulders, circling the smallish lake all the while the fishermen were complaining that it was past 5pm curfew and we should get "Get the hell off of the lake!" Well, learning how to do something well and beyond expectations, your first time out, being tested at any endeavor and succeeding, is part of the challenges and the meanings make life. So along comes OLB Brad Jones, drafted in the 7th round, ask to substitute for kap'n krunched with concussion Aaron Kampman, and he delivers big time. No big mistakes, 7 tackles, 1 for a loss. Either Dallas didn't prepare to take advantage of him, or this LB can play. Time will tell and we'll see how much playing time the coaches can give him in the coming games. Question of the Day? I'm sure I have the same question as everyone else has had.... if OL JT Lang practiced all summer mini-camp long at Right Tackle, and did so well (by Packers recent OL standards) in his first time starting at RT against the Cowboys. Why wasn't Lang put at RT from the get-go? Puh-leaze... as much as Allen Barbre has a legit right to compete for the position of RT, Breno Giacomini was kept on the roster over drafted, then first to the practice squad, then lost to the Buffalo Bills, OT Jamon Meredith. Mistakes just like these two alone can get GM's deservedly fired. BeerKid - Always Pack 4 Life! |

Lemondrop _______________________________________ Well, that went well. Finally. foundinidaho _______________________________________ TT made the best decision for the franchise in dumping the "diva #4". Jury is out on MM but the players didn't have to give him the game ball after Dallas game!!!! How about some maybe's: Maybe some good defensive ends can't adjust to 3-4 defense. Maybe looking at the whole picture it's best for the team to trade a good player in a different defense for a player who fits better in the 3-4. dfarmer _______________________________________ Now what do we do that we've beaten Dallas at home. I believe we are seeing what this team can really do. Strong D, O-Line did a fair job, running game improved, but could be better, and special teams did not give up the big play. Woodson played to his Heisman potential. This is sure a roller coaster, but can we see a Wild card and going back to the dome to beat the ByeQueens as their wimpy schedule can hand them the division. The saga continues, but encouraged by beating Dallas. I was at the game and "gave er". Let's hope for the true Favre to show up these next 7 games... We don't have to french-kiss McCarthy or Thompson, but how about ranting in your car when no one else is looking. draftfan _______________________________________ A few things. First I have to say I have never seen such a bitching group of fans than the Packer fans. It has gotten so bad that we should move the franchise to LA just as a reminder that nothing is to be takes for granted. To all you other Packer Fans shut the hell up, stop your incessant whining, and enjoy the game. Second A-Rod is a stud. Is he perfect? No. He needs an offenseive line which TT will get next draft and after we win 3 out of the next 4 SuperBowls you same stupid whining fans will be naming a street after him. Lastly, it was nice to the team answer the bell and beat a Dallas team on the roll. One other thing I forgot to mention. Again for all you homer fans - todays game was the last played by Aaron Kampman. He does not fit this team and will not be here next year. If he is than the bitch to fire Thompson has some legitmacy. Goodbye Aaron. I appeciate your effort and marginal athleticism. Go Pack Go. I sort of thought the story of mike and Co came down to two challenges-First the knee-jerk challenge when Jordy was a yard short of the score...and even more sadly the one mike threw when he didn't have one, and the way he tried to hide on the sideline after that....Too bad. I guess the thing that really put an exclamation point on it was the Nick Barnett twitter after the game, where, to paraphase, said "we're disappointed and no matter what the media says about us we'll keep working hard.." In Twenty years, people will remember this as one of the biggest sports blunders ever. Stop sticking up for TT and MM. Yes, we gave them the benefit of the doubt, but it's clear that they made the wrong move. We would have been better off taking Favre's approach and bringing in Randy Moss and making another go of it in 2008. Instead, we build through the draft and look where that's got us. Packers 2nd Place NFC North 4-4...
Packers looked really great on about 12 plays and to no one's surprise, that didn't hold up as the Buccaneers break away from the winless column and humiliate the "hapless in special teams" Packers 38-28. And despite our karma-waving always endlessly looping animations encouraging the outcome of the game, it sounds like OLB Aaron Kampman got a bit of kap'n krunched himself during the game... we try. Here comes more o-line positional changes this week as TJ Lang gets to take his turn and play this time at LG for the upcoming Dallas Cowboys game. It's a fine day to have a drink...and IF, a big if. If I get to dream-on the next GM and HC of the Packers... I'll go with Mike Holmgrem as GM, Jon Gruden as HC. If money must be laid down, the bet is that TT and MM will still be with us next year and beyond... BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life! ______________________________ BK !! Are you ok? Should I call someone? Lemondrop Hey Lemondrop... Oh I'm fine... as you get older you recover from "expected wins" slower and slower... with the pace that TT and MM are setting... I'll be posting 3 weeks after the fact. BK ______________________________ I want all the guys who have defended Mike and Ted for the past couple years to cheer me up and tell me again how these guys really understand football and what how great they are at evaluating talent. I want them to tell me how "true" Packer fans would never criticize their abilities. Spend a little time telling me how we won't be told that we are rebuilding, we will just be reloading once we get that old washed up "Gun Slinger" out of here. Tell me we had too hard a schedule and now we have too easy a schedule. It doesn't look like we are a good team with any schedule. Based on Murphy's interview today it does not look like changes are coming any time soon to the PACK. When we finish the season out of the playoff hunt again, we will be told we won a couple more games than last year. We improved, be satisfied, support your team and shut up. If you do I guess you are a "true" Packer fan!! I'll be an honest Packer fan, CAMP ______________________________ Can we please just turn this thing over to Mike Holmgren and start over now? Having grown up under Devine and endured the Starr, Gregg, and Infante years as a young Packer fan, I've seen some pretty pitiful performances by the Green & Gold. But that debacle against Tampa Bay yesterday may, in many ways, be the worst I've ever seen. They broke down in every single facet of the game and, it seemed to me, a lot of those guys have just given up. Between bad schemes every week and the psychological beatdown Minnesota has given us twice in the last month, I think these guys are already looking forward to the off-season..... SCHRADES ______________________________ Painful. Blew an 11 point lead with 12 minutes left, to an 0-7 team. Still can't quite wrap my brain around that. I hope McStimpy enjoys the rest of his final season as an NFL head coach. Ruppert ______________________________ Did you see that? Boy its going to be a long season, maybe win 2 or three more. We are now "that" team K. Hope MT is OK. I think TT was right. BF will cost him his job. Scott in Souptown ______________________________ Well, at the midway point of the season, the good news is that the Packers aren't a "bad" team. The bad news is that the Packers aren't a "good" team either. We are mediocre. Ugh. I had an uneasy feeling going into yesterday's game. 0-7 opponent coming off a bye week, starting a rookie, unknown QB, in a stadium that we pretty much never win in ... The Packers had several opportunities, as usual, to put them away, but they could never close the door. Same old recurring problems from the previous 7 games - too many penalties allowing drives to be sustained, poor special teams play, and Rodgers spent another good portion of the game flat on his back. That this stuff is not getting fixed as the season wears on, falls on the coaching staff. The difference between 5-3 and 4-4 heading into the second-half stretch has never seemed greater than it does right now. *sigh* btw, those orange "creamsicle" uniforms the Bucs were wearing are just plain painful to look at. Ick. #66 Chica ______________________________ The VCR is becoming one of favorite tools to retaining sanity. We just lost to an F'n 0-7 team with an F'n Rookie QB .... and it was his FIRST NFL START. Capers, along with TT, Coach "Yes Man" and the Special Teams coach all NEED TO GO!! Why wasn't McCarthy running the ball more often instead of having A-ROD airing it out for INT's?? Ryan Grant should have had the "Game of his F'n LIFE" but no, instead Coach "Not the Right Mind Set" decides that Ryan's 5.2 yards per carry wasn't doing the job. Speaking of Jobbed, we have ALL been JOBBED by this A-Hole and our so-called G.M. in his "Ivory Tower" at 1265 Lombardi Avenue. I would like to see Bill Cowher hired as our next Head Coach and bring back Mike Holmgren as our next G.M. and bring back the PRIDE that once was in "Title Town!" It's time to make some serious changes and if Mark Murphy doesn't have "The Seeds" to do it, then the organization should also send his ass packing as well. I would like to "blow sunshine" up everyone's ass's by telling you that we should win next Sunday, at home against the Cowboys, but after watching last nights game against the Eagles, well I think they may get the all time sack record for one game and Aaron may collapse in a heap and may need assistance getting off the field. But if that should happen you all know that "Theodore" and Coach "Yes Man" have a solid PLAN B with the QB position should the unthinkable happen, (ahem) Right?? Speaking of A-ROD ... How about getting RID OF THE FUCKING BALL when the pressure is on instead of taking a sack.CONGRATS to Ahman and GO PACK GO!! PACKER PAUL - Minneapolis, MN. ______________________________ For only the second time in my lifetime of watching and cheering for the Packers, Sundays are no longer reserved for them. ![]() | Could there be anything more than the proverbial prescriptive tonic of the 0-7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the ailing Green Bay Packers this week down in Tampa Bay. The Bucc's are starting rookie QB Josh Freeman and the Pack need a rebound game. Well this is it! The Pack win 27-14 in a deceptive yet in several record breaking ways, 48 minutes of time possession, 730 yards of offense, 9, yes count them, 9 FG's (of 40 yards or less, well technically 38 yards or less) in a winning rout of their former NFC Central brethren. What a day for the history books... Beer Kid | ||||||

Speak Out Spew Off...
So.... if Tackles Chad Clifton and returning Mark Tauscher are both playing against the Buccaneers... does that mean we can go back to the heady days of yesteryear and start complaining about the line play of the Guards? BeerKid - Always Pack 4 Life!_____________________________________ LiferPackerfan - Couldn't agree with you more. That's the Dom Capers we painfully had to watch for five years in Houston. I think it's time to get rid of TT, MM and Capers. Get someone who knows how to draft, trade, and build us a team. Packfan in Texas _____________________________________ i am so tired of people saying "how could we give up on a legend like brett?", how can we call ourselves loyal packer fans...yea, he did take this team to a great level, and did great things for the organization, but let me say this...how dare HE say that this (the queens) may be the best team i ever played with, where is HIS loyalty, to reggie, and all those guys he won the super bowl with and got to another the next year!! where is that loyalty?? if he can look at his "legacy" and say, sure, i play with the queens to get even...wrong, then he is the one who is not being loyal!! i am a packer fan first...and lets not forget how crappy brent looked the first couple years, throwing stupid passes, getting sacked when he should have gotten rid of it...we loved and hated the things he did, but we stuck by him, and i guess that is why when ted t. didn't handle things the way he should have, i never thought he would throw and "tantrum" and say, "fine, i will play with someone else, wah!!"...my loyalty is with the PACKERS!!! Packer Backer in Ohio _____________________________________ and to think, the vikings have longwell also... packers aren't that far ahead of Detroit, cellar dwellers all of ya. Cute animation on the top of this page with Allen and Favre, just think those two beat the pack, what does that make the pack??? viking fan _____________________________________ Ted Thompson is a cerebral, anti-social misfit, that part of his draft pick process involves pleasuring himself with spandex adorned player photos. No label or rumor , even in jest, have I heard this disparaging about our former GM. Football aside, all I know is what my gut tells me. Bob Harlan was a personable, fan friendly GM. TT gives me the creeps. It's as simple as that. Jim _____________________________________ Packer fans have no class! Why would you boo a legend of the game? I would never boo Michael Jordan, John Elway, Bart Star, or Brett Favre. Packer fans are no longer the best in the nation. Tom Hey Tom, you're confused this week, booing BF is about booing the opponent. When did Elway ever leave his team? Who cares about Jordan, although he left his team to go play in obscurity on another.... and Bart Starr??? Dude, you need to seek medical help if you think Bart Starr is down in the same level as BF is... Bart won 5 championships.... BF has won one... 10 years ago. BK _____________________________________ packer backer in Ohio - you're right... you're babbling. hey big erv - still drunk from the game i suppose (if you were drinking a shot every time they said "Favre"). really classy...to say Favre was "all show" over Jennings lying on the ground. how do YOU know that? oh, i forgot YOU know everything don't you? what a class act this board is to have you on it. wow. why don't you shut up? hey chica #66, could it be that "jesse" maybe turned in his loyalty to the Pack because he thinks TT and Packer management turned on Favre? seriously....no rips on the Pack. no lauding Favre. objectively....why can you and those who support your stance all be "right" and no one else can have they stance or opinion? seems a bit narrow-minded. you think you're right. i think i'm right. the truth, as Aikman stated, is somewhere wherever and we may never actually find that out. it's all load-talk. jeff ircink Hey Jeff, seeing you're the Viking fan who wants to someday, be a Packer fan... I agree with Big Erv, there was no reason for BF to be standing over Jennings... none.... 'cept to be on TV and be seen as someone who cares... which in my estimation is more about rehabbing his tarnished image. BK _____________________________________ Packers are gonna finish the season 4-12. Aaron Rodgers jersey is green from Mr. Allen putting that sorry piece of pack crap in the turf 7.5 times in 2 games. Everyone better soak up those tears with beers when the vikings kick everyone's ass in the division. Mike _____________________________________ Hey # 66 Chica you are right about that a hole that just SWITCHES TEAMS cause Favre does Here is my question I can care less what Shannahan EYES LOOK LIKE THE MAN CAN BE GAY FAR I AM CONCERED JUST WIN THE FREAKING DIVISION AND THEN THE CONFERENCE AND THEN YOU KNOW WHAT IM FROM TEXAS IN TEXAS FOOTBALL IS KING FROM HIGH SCHOOL ON FRIDAY TO LONGHORNS ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY WELL FOR ME PACKERS FOR EVERYONE ELSE AROUND HERE cowboys and if this TT clown wouldve been a HS coach or AD in some school down here TRUST ME HE BE FIRED BEFORE BREAKFAT THE NEXT DAY P.S. I am really struggling here. JONNY C _____________________________________ I'm glad the Packer/Vikings games are done. I am tired of the hoopla over Favre. Many of you know I have always liked the guy, but it kills me to see him playing for the Queens. My family knows I hate even watching these games. On top of that he is probably playing better than he has in years and I'm tired of seeing us in this continual rebuilding effort. Thompson has had long enough!!! This - well, we have the youngest team in the NFL, doesn't mean shit to me other than we currently suck. Thompson should be fired!! We have numerous great possible GM's out there along with great possible new coaches. Thompson has divided Packer Nation, cost us millions in sales and marketing dollars for the future, had a great young QB fall in his lap and is working at getting him killed with the lack of a line around him. In any business organization he would be fired. United Packer Nation - Fire Thompson and let's us move on!!!I grew up with the Packers giving coaches and GM's way too long to prove they have no ability to lead our team. We are starting to re-live the past... Hoping for Change. CAMP _____________________________________ Can someone give me a brief review of Aaron Kampman's paly as a LB. Great, good, or sucked and why. Mark Hey Mark, Kampman is playing out of position, he was our starting RDE and now they've put him on the left side and well, although he's playing hard, he's not making plays, but then hardly anyone on the D is making plays when it counts. BK _____________________________________ I can't stand it. I am going to drink heavy and watch a couple dozen That 70's Show. The Mellonhead, a western Nebraska Sconnie. Mellonhead _____________________________________ I honestly had faith in the Packers, but after that terrible showing I honestly can't stick up for Thompson and McCarthy anymore. That was embarrassing. I enjoyed all the fans that helped contribute to our first half points. But our defense was also just terrible. Capers number is up soon too. We just need to sweep the Bears. It's going to be a long season. Crappy Halloween! Definitely a Trick and not a Treat LiferPackerfan _____________________________________ Yeah Baby.............Super Vikes!!!!!!!!! Matt Primozich _____________________________________ Dear Brett, You win. I'm sorry. Ted Thompson _____________________________________ Shame on all you packer fans in Green Bay. Where was the outrage when the weirdo TT got rid of Brett. You don't shit on a legend, you pay respects, he earned it. Yes Aaron is great! But Brett was the king. You don't boo him for putting Green Bay back on the map. After Brett wins the Super Bowl, Make him the General Manager of the Pack. Zadgolf _____________________________________ Just wanted to make a quick comment if possible. First and foremost I am glad I was introduced to this site by a friend of mine who highly recommended it and posts on/checks this site regularly. I agree our line play has been marginal at best without any kind of stability. But we have to fault ARod at some point for, IMO, holding onto the ball too damn long. He has all the tools of being a perennial top 5 QB in the NFL for years to come. He just has to put the talent and the on field intelligence into one complete package regardless of mediocre talent on the front line. We might still suffer sack laden seasons, but I believe it would cut the amount down at least 30% and keep him healthier. dayzedpackfan _____________________________________ There are still idiots blaming Rodgers for the sack situation? Seriously? Wake up, fools. Plenty of QBs hold onto the ball and try to make a play, most notably Mr. Favre. How about Roethlisberger? Even if Rodgers throws away 2 or 3 of those sacks into the stands every week, he'd STILL be leading the league in sacks taken. Why? Because our O line is a complete disaster. Was it Aaron Rodgers' fault that NOBODY even TRIED to block Jared Allen on one play? No. I'm not saying AR is all-world, but to keep blaming him when ANY other QB in the league would be taking damn near as many sacks is stupid. Blame the guy who drafted these idiots, and/or blame the O line coach who should be coaching in high school, not the NFL. Ruppert Hey Ruppert, I tend to agree with you.... you can't blame Ryan Grant for a crappy running game, you can't blame Aaron Rodgers for taking sacks, when the team's O-Line is a bad as it is. It starts in the trenches... and the Pack is lacking at that position. BK _____________________________________ Why is jeff"favres girl" ircink still around? Dude have you no friends to hang out in your room and listen to jason mraz or coldplay albums smootchin' that traitors photo? favre summed up him self when he knew he was on camera waving his arms a "no catch" over jennings and then faking concern when dude was slow to rise. Long and short of it if you like favre you have a huge character flaw and should be a lousy b@#rs fan....thats just my opinion one thing came from that game we took a shot every time they said "favre" and while I can hold my drink we were torn up by the middle of the second.will this man (and his dishonor) be linked to our proud team forever?! Wheres the swine-flu when it's really needed?? p.s shut up ircink. He looks a little small to be on the O-Line, but maybe if he is elusive, he can fill that 3rd down RB position the Packers haven't bothered to fill out yet. BK BK- Paddy has been on our defense for 3 years now. Every ViQueen, Da Bums, or Dandelion fan that walked into our Pacs bar in San Diego, he yells and barks at them. Works every time... GO PACK GO!! Packer Backer in Ohio _____________________________________ I really like most of what I see from Aaron Rodgers, the problem I have is that he seems to make some really poor decisions on third down and other important times in the ball game. I realize he got to sit and watch Favre for 3 years, but is he the guy you would want to have Rodgers emulating? Favre was all or nothing and I am seeing some of that in Rodgers. Watching the Saints-Atl game I saw Mark Brunell on the sidelines with Brees and thought how great it would be to have a veteran QB on the sidelines for Rodgers to bounce things off of. Hell Favre even had that in McMahon and Pederson. Lucky Luke _____________________________________ Jared: Mike Shanahan is a bit too scary-looking to me, with the 'beady' eyes and all. I'd rather have Jon Gruden. Or Bill Cowher. Cowher's a proven winner, and he sure knows the 3-4, doesn't he? Gruden's got the ass-kicking, go-for-the-jugular mentality. Either of these guys would be an upgrade from Mike "ho-hum.. penalties are just a way of life" McCarthy... (If Lovie Smith gets the axe in Chicago, there's already talk that da bearz are going to pursue Cowher...) Jesse: "I am a Viking now"??? Really? You trade in your Packer loyalty that cheaply and easily? If QueenFavre re-retires and then un-re-retires and goes down to Dall-ass to play for King Jerry, are you going to be "a Cowboy now"? The only "absolute joke" here is you, pal. It would be amusing, if it weren't so pathetic. #66 Chica _____________________________________ Props to Favre, give him his due. Until the coaches can figure out a way to overcome Rodgers hard-wired brainfart everytime he rolls out of the pocket and goes into sackfreeze mode, our QB situation will remain in nuetral. Packers 2nd Place NFC North 4-3...
![]() | ![]() |
| When they showed "Theodore" on T.V. during the game, how many of you flipped off the screen, yelled profanity or tossed a beer bottle at the set?? I did all of the above, except tossing a beer bottle at our T.V. (The wife would have grounded me from "Hooters", cut me off from doing the "nasty" or something far worse had I launched a cold and frosty at the set). Would someone also ask "Theodore" why we are STILL the youngest team in the NFL? The good news is we face the Buccaneers on Sunday for what was once known years ago as the " Bay of Pigs " match up. Let's hope it doesn't fast become that type of a game. GO PACK GO! PACKER PAUL - Minneapolis, MN. _____________________________________ I have NEVER seen that much PURPLE @ Hambone before. That was truly disturbing. What happened to all of the LOYAL Packer fans? Best part was seeing good old TT in his sky box all by himself, with that stupid look on his face. I wonder if he is going to buy himself and McMeaty a ticket on that train? kungfu Hey kungfu, like any team, there are always bandwagoners who will jump on and jump off at a moments notice... most are just looking for a reason to drink on game-days... instead of standing by their team through thick and thin, wins and losses. BK _____________________________________ Penalties!!!! Wow we killed our selves several times what should have been 4th down turned into 1st and 10 and Viqueen scores. Rodgers needs to get rid of the ball a little sooner and stop looking for the homerun ball every time. Just take the underneath stuff and move the chains. I have a feeling that we will play them again. I don't see too many dominate teams in the NFC this year other than New Orleans, Falcons and the Viqueens. We just need to take care of business the rest of the year and be prepared for them in the post season.... It makes me laugh when I think about the Viqueens. Over the years they have sprinkled their team with Good Packer players in hopes to make their teams competitive: Sharper, Longwell, and now they get one of the greatest Packers of all time in Favre. It's funny it takes a Packer to make the Viqueens successful. GO PACK!! Greenbaypackerbacker _____________________________________ TT 0, BF 2 - Ted must go!!! BF Hall of Fame - TT Hall of Shame Packer Fan _____________________________________ I think I want to throw up. Argh. foundinidaho _____________________________________ if they can't beat off, how do expect McCarthy and TT to game plan to beat the Queens? Pathetic. No glory until the trio off incompetence is gone. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck... it is a fuckin DUCK! New management please! Sad... truly sad. this should go down as one of the greatest blunders of management in sports history. walks like a duck and quacks like a duck _____________________________________ That loss hurt me more than the NFC Championship from the 07 season. The coach needs to discipline this team for the penalties and then take Johnny Jolly aside and kick his fat ass for that bullshit penalty he had in the first qtr. With some therapy I think I will make it but this one hurts really bad....... really bad. Part of me knows that the pack (for most part) is still young and the team that TT put together just needs time, HE (TT) looks like such a f-ing prick that I want to choke the egomaniac! I going to go meditate now as I must find a healthy place for my soul. Chris from FL _____________________________________ You guys are an absolute joke. I know you won't post this BK but you know you are. This is why I love Brett and why you all should too. I am a Viking now but I would like nothing more than to have Brett still be a Packer. It hurts me. But what hurts me most is listening to the dumbest people in the world (packer fans) talk about why they lost or why Brett sucks. Can't you guys understand that he is the only reason that there is still a team in GB. He stuck it to you losers again. At 40. Screw TT and MM and Murphy. They didn't just screw me they screwed us all. Like I said, I would and all my friend would love for Brett to still be a Packer but it is what it is. Go Favre and go Vikes! Jesse _____________________________________ HHHMMM Too bad we cant play detroit and cleveland everyweek.... chilwil86 _____________________________________ What's up Al Davis ( of packernet.com). Why is the website shut down. The Packers lost a tough game against a bitter rival, but they played very well in the second half. Please bring back the website, it was a great forum regardless of how the fans showed their support of the team. I know a lot of people (including myself) disagreed with a lot of what you posted, but isn't that what a forum is for, back and forth debate. Please bring it back! Thanks, jonnyfootballhero Hey Jonny, who knows what those guys are doing after a hard loss to a much-hated rival.... they are still updating the article links page - http://www.packernet.com/articles.php today... BK _____________________________________ TT and MM should be fired at the end of the season! Iowa Boy Hey IB, at the current pace these two are going you would have to say they are working on it... BK _____________________________________ Even the Fox crew recognized we have a C - KO returner, while the other guys had an all-star. Our first half play calling sucked. TT is 4Sh#t, while #4 for them had a good game. Our O-line sucked (again), and our running game was in the toilet. ARodg did the best he could with what he had. Our DBs are generally great, but only average today. Run defense was pretty good (but theirs was better). Only chance to kick their ass this year - NFC Title game (admittedly a very LONG wild card shot). Dr. Pack _____________________________________ The one time I predicted a game (this past Thursday a.m.). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2ET4LiG-pM - Nice game, Packer fans. Too close for my comfort BUT it's what I expected. Jeff Ircink Hey Jeff, you know, I was tired of the "I don't do predictions before the game but I like to come in and tell you 'I told you so' after the game" and now you'll you're giving me the "I made a game prediction on some other website, but I'm back here to tell you 'I told you so' after the game again" crap... whatever... BK _____________________________________ It's clear that the Packers TEAM is not at the level that the 'queens TEAM is. I'm very disappointed in this loss. I have to say I'm a bit perplexed that the Packers' receiving corps did not do a better job today against possibly the weakest link on the 'queens team - their secondary (especially w/ Winfield out). ??? It just seemed as if Rodgers did not have enough hands to get the football to. Look, I know we're all bummed out about this (except for perhaps the #4 groupies who were "ambivalent"), but there's still a ton of football left to be played. Regardless of what transpired out there on that field today, this season is far from over. Keep the faith, fellow GREEN BAY PACKERS fans.... Cheers! #66 Chica _____________________________________ Brett acted like a big asshole – Like he was "wronged" out of Green Bay - PRICK - He can retire a Viking for all I care. Joe from Ohio _____________________________________ Damn. Would be nice to know how this one might have turned out if McCarthy and Capers hadn't conceded the first half. OK, we're better than Detroit, St. Louis, and Cleveland. Really, is that good enough at this point? Ray66 _____________________________________ It's nearly time....for all Favre has done for the franchise, despite the fact that he's been the face of Packers football for a generation, it's time for the Pack to show him that he's made a mistake and to feed him mass quantities of Lambeau turf.... while of course pounding the rest of those purple abominations senseless..... Go Pack--Time to shine! Carl "Gator" Nelson Hey Carl, the only thing shining this morning is that 1/8 of a watt bulb down at the end of the train tunnel that the team is pummeling towards. BK _____________________________________ Happy, "Queen Slaying Day" Beerkid! I'm having the monks over for the bruising of Brett. This will be the NFC North title game right here. And we are better equipped to win this time. Give Aaron the time and he will make those purple punks know what the "Woodshed" feels like. The Christian Brothers may come by the house at half time. I hope they don't stay too long. They will malinger if you let them. Packers 31 Queens 12, Go Pack!! Big Daddy Lee, Algonquin, Illinois Hey Big Daddy, a "Happy Queen Slaying Day" to you too... can't hardly wait for the big game today. BK _____________________________________ Hey, BK. Just thought I would send you some links to some photoshop I worked on. Not quite to your level yet, but I am working on it. I also would like to share you my top 4 ways to welcome Brent Favre back to Lambeau. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
#1. First thing we need to do is let him know that we have decided that his number will be retired when HE retires, not anytime sooner. So we give the number to the punter to let him know that we are serious about it. No more ignoring the number when it comes time to hand out numbers to rookies and such. Hell we could even give it to the water boy. #2. On every washroom in Lambeau field put a picture of Aaron Rodgers on the Men's room door and on the Women's room door put a picture of Brent in the ugly purple dress. This would also send a message to the man. Plus it just makes me laugh thinking about it. Really that shit is funny. Just look at it. I think I will send this off to Lambeau and see if they get it done. #3. Just to take the last one a few steps forward, lets put Brent's picture crying at his presser when he retired, the first time, on all the toilet paper in the joint. Sell it at the Pro Shop. Since 90 percent of all the toilet paper in America is made in the Green Bay area this one should not be that hard. We could also put the number 4 on all the toilet seats so when you sit you are sitting on his number. Good idea Chris. THANK YOU. #4. Okay this one is the best one I had. FIRE TED THOMPSON. Fire him today, tomorrow, or hell fire him yesterday. He has got to go. I am so sick and tired of his management. We have no o line to protect A Rod. He spends most of the game on his ass. He will not sign free agents, wait, I take that one back. He signed Ahman Green. AHMAN GREEN? Wasn't he the one that sent him packing saying he could not play anymore? I love Green. I am forever grateful for his years with the Pack but man, shake your head Ted. YOU SUCK. The minute you are gone is the minute this glorious franchise gets back on the right track. I hate Ted Thompson. I do. Packers 31 viqueens 17 GO PACK GO!!! hamilton aka Sign Boy _____________________________________ There's also, "When cheese goes bad, it turns purple." PACKERO IN TEXAS _____________________________________ The DomeQueens got the better of us at their birthday party blow-up set they call a stadium, but now it's our turn!!! No goofy horn blaring, {on the} Rag-sore the mascot, their glittering, cheerleader bimbo parade, or pigtail-festooned Holloween characters filling the seats, just good old-fashioned Titletown football. Bring it on!!! Jim _____________________________________ I'm more nervous for this one than the first one (Packers vs. Vikes) and that's saying something. I just really want Brent to get his just desserts. And I am sick and tired of seeing Brad Childress on TV, what an ass. Go Pack! foundinidaho _____________________________________ Classic Rockwood! A hat-tip to Stone's Ruination IPA for the assist in keeping the game exciting and relevant while I was fighting to keep my eyes open during the game from the 2nd straight day of my coma induced food overdose of turkey, stuffing, taters & yams...

Now the Pack need to finish the season by winning out....

So barely on the outside looking in...

years, people will remember this as one of the biggest sports blunders ever. I'm sorry, but it's true. BF was right!

encouraging the outcome of the game, it sounds like OLB Aaron Kampman got a bit of kap'n krunched himself during the game... we try. Here comes more o-line positional changes this week as TJ Lang gets to take his turn and play this time at LG for the upcoming Dallas Cowboys game. It's a fine day to have a drink...

Speaking of A-ROD ... How about getting RID OF THE FUCKING BALL when the pressure is on instead of taking a sack.
