Loving' the Favre Watch up here in MN. The chokers are now going to have to deal with the Waffler and showing they are not making any moves toward a QB who may NOT choke in the big game. ByeQueens at least are consistent!!!! TT needs to get active in the Free Agency, LT would be a nice addition to the backfield? Any others with thoughts on this. Let's not get to quiet on how we feel. Andy, All everyone talks about is BF and how he makes everyone better. When the big game came around, he had a tendency to through an interception. 19 years an only one superbowl. I'm not sure the Packer receivers are a big step down from the Rams. As you saw this year in Minnesota, the receivers are always better when they have a good QB throwing to them. The point I am trying to make is that in the big game BF couldn't get the job done. He has proven that many times and proved it again this year.

Here's an interesting blog tidbit for Packer Fans from Pete Fierle, Manager - Digital Media/Communications at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, about how an Inductee is associated with a specific team:

"How does the Pro Football Hall of Fame determine under which team someone is enshrined?

The answer is simple. We don't!

An individual is elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a player, coach, or contributor not as a member of a declared team. Also, it helps that our bronze busts don't have helmets or coaching caps.

However, even though an enshrinee doesn't choose a team, you will notice that we list enshrinees by team on our website, in our publications, and at the museum in Canton. We always list every team for which a person was associated. Our lists are broken down by noting whether an inductee spent a MAJOR or MINOR portion of his career with a team.

Assuming that Favre and Warner don't come back next season, they'd be eligible for the Class of 2015. Further assuming that they get elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Favre's name would show up under the Green Bay Packers but he'd also be noted as spending a "minor" portion of his career with the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings."

Claiming "the fix was in" for New Orleans to win the game (because we all know there is a "conspiracy" against the Vikings around the league). LMAO

Yeah, right. These are the exact same fans that always claimed the refs "protected" Brett when he was a Packer and every time the Packers beat the queens it was *always* because of bad calls by the refs. They're also bitching and whining that the Saints played "dirty" and took a gazillion cheap shots at Favre, trying to injure him. Which again, the refs did nothing about, because they wanted New Orleans to be in the Superbowl.

Of course, the interception was no big surprise and is Favre's fault entirely. The 12th man in the huddle is partly to blame on Lord Favre, also. Watch A-Rod--he stands away from the huddle, counts the players, and then enters the huddle. Favre is a veteran who makes rookie mistakes at crucial times. Favre was very tough against the Saints and took a beating but did anyone else notice how much more pronounced his limp became after the game?

ray, I don't know what you tried to post here that was deleted, but I just wanted to say that the "I used to like green" quote from that QueenFavre commercial really torqued me off too. Yeah, I know it was meant to be "cute", and I know it's only television (advertising, at that), but something about him "making fun of" the Packers just strikes me as, well... not funny. It's just rubbing salt in the wound for all of the Packer faithful who believed in him, supported him, and put up with/forgave him for his 'youthful transgressions' (vicodin, pal-ing around with Chewey, partying, etc.). The Green Bay Packers and their fans were better to (and FOR) Brett Favre than ANY other NFL franchise ever could have been.

And by all of his actions (and words) over the past two years, it's clear that not only does he not appreciate that, but he just doesn't even get it.

He sickens me. Frankly, I am torn between wanting him to get the hell out of the league for good, and wanting him to remain in Minny and play for umpteen more years. The latter might *almost* be worth having to put up with more of the insulting bullshit from him, in order to continue to be able to enjoy watching him sink the team. After all, he's only getting older. While our boy Aaron is only getting BETTER.

I'm up for another 2 "FavreBowls" next year, the more I think about it. Because I think we'll win at least one of them. And it sure would be sweet in either venue - the Dump, or Lambeau.

At least he's Minny's problem now. He claims he's not going to keep the team waiting very long for his "decision." Yeah. Right. Like *anything* that comes out of his mouth anymore can be taken seriously. I hope he does string 'em along. Right up til late August would be perfect.

Soon, three more Viking fans arrive, take up their drinks and the chanting grows."51 days, 51 days, 51 days!" Two more Viking fans show up and soon their voices are joined in raising the roof. "51 days, 51 days, 51 days!" Finally, the tenth Viking fan comes in with a picture under his arm. He walks over to the table, sets the picture in the middle and the table erupts.

Up jumps the others, they begin dancing around the table, exchanging high-fives, all the while chanting "51 days, 51 days, 51 days!" The bartender can't contain his curiosity any longer, so he walks over to the table. There in the center is a beautifully framed children's puzzle of Ragnar, the Vikings Mascot.

It's Sunday, hours before the New York Jets@Indianpolis Colts on CBS and the later Minnesota Vikings@New Orleans Saints game on FOX... and man o man, let me say, my least favorite teams in the NFL, just happen to be 2 of the 4 teams left, yes, the Vikings and the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets.

Oh duh Chicago Bears fit in there somewhere too, but a New York Jets vs Minnesota Vikings Super Bowl would be... well, I'm not sure I'd watch that game. Former Green Bay Packers and New York Jets and now current Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre or no Brett Favre.

So.... here's hoisting a cold one to a New Orleans Saints vs Indianapolis Colts Super Bowl. Go Saints! (ah gawd, what's that after-taste in my mouth) Go Packer Pro Bowl Players!!! (that's better)

Update: Vikings lose in OT, 28-31 to the Saints, and with the Colts win over Jets 30-17 so we're going to have a New Orleans Saints vs Indianapolis Colts for Super Bowl XLIV.

In the NFC Championship game, Viking QB Bret Favre looked pretty good in a hard fought game against the blitzing Saints defense, taking a tremendous beating all game long, but still standing at the end, and all those fumbles aside, we get the classic "Jay Cutler INT throw" (sorry Jay, but if you're going to have 17 of your 26 INTS be of that type of weak throw across the field, it's eventually going to be named after you) anyway, then the classic INT that all of us Packers fans have so fond memories of by Bret Favre, compiling a mistake on top of the previous play's mistake and the Vikings last chance to win was gone. Saints take all day to drive a handful of yards and kick a 40yd FG to win. Even with that finish, I'm still not in favor of changing the OT rules.... fair or not fair as it may seem to the Vikings SB chances.

In the AFC Championship game some QB who was 2nd in the NFL in most INT's lost to the QB who's been around forever. No one but J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets fans were surprised.

Hey, I got the Super Bowl I wanted, umm, forced to endure out of the remaining 4 teams that the NFL had left. I finally get the correct prognosticatin' vibe and I didn't put any money down. Damn....

yeah, sorry if i actually became so rage consumed by Brett's pre game commercial with the "ah use to like green" quote, set against a backdrop of this years team having been the best he ever played on that I contributed a line of bile so strong that it actually had to be edited on a board that will let you write nearly anything. I suppose I need to get a life. And to throw the mirror of hypocrisy back on myself, I will be one of the cretins welcoming him back, when he does come back. Brett for the 1000 th time played bravely yesterday.

The highest compliment I can give him as a 53 yo man is he has impossibly moved alongside Bart and Ray as my favorite Packers ever. But whenever I see him jumping up and down celebrating Packer defeat at Lambeau some primordial beast comes out of me. My wish is that Packer fans take a much more balanced view of the job TT has done, worthy, if not of praise, then of one hell of a lot more patience than Packer fans have showed him. What was it he said when he had to sign Brett's release? Even if Aaron wins 3 times here, it is unlikely I will ever love him more than Brett. But Brett as a Viking clearly brings out something very ugly in me. So, Sorry. Forever grateful for your miraculous board, and the lovely Packer girls who would make such cool cheerleaders in my bong world. So lucky to have Aaron. Thank you Ted Thompson. It basically doesn't matter what happens during the 16 regular season games. What matters to Ruppert is the playoffs. And once again, Butt Fart managed to piss away a chance at a Super Bowl with another totally stupid INT in OT. It's hard to fathom, actually, how a guy could make yet another totally asinine decision when a trip to the Super Bowl was on the line. And in true Favre fashion, the latest indiscretion is probably the most heinous. None of us Packers fans could possibly believe that he could f*ck up worse than he did against the Giants...but he did.

2 years ago I'm watching the NFC championship game with my 9 year-old son and we see a cold and apathetic Brett Favre throw an interception in OT and lose the game, my son was heart-broken, as was I, we couldn't believe that Breet could throw that pick and head for the heater like it didn't matter.

On behalf of my, now 11 year-old son, I'd like to thank Brett Favre, when his last pass of the season, for Minnesota in the NFC championship game, was an interception my son cheered as though the Packers were still in it. Thanks Brett for playing like Brett.

Shades of 2007 happening to the Vikes!!! Could it be...I just sense this happening. With the Bandwagon Fans starting to "Hope" in Favre, I believe he will rip their hearts out with some audibles that fail miserably. I predict Sharper two picks with one big run back putting the game out of reach for the BYEQUEENS. Oh, Mckenzie most likely with grab his pick as well. GO Pack and my second favorite team for Sunday - NO!!! With Rodgers and some O-line and D upgrades we will own the Division for 2010 and on. I cannot wait!!! Will Favre retire after being so close? Wanna see the Saints give an old fashioned beat-down on Favre and the rest of those Purple Panzies.

Admittedly I'm not fond of Jerry Jones and his team but what Favre pulled was pretty classless. When you're up by 24 points and you have the ball deep in your opponent's territory with 2 minutes to go you keep the ball on the ground and run the clock down.

Instead he tosses a TD pass to rub the 'Boy's faces in it and/or set his personal post season "TD's in one game mark" record. In any case it was pretty cheap of him and I hope it motivates the Saints "D" to kick his ass all over the Viking end of the field.

Let me first say how tired I am of hearing about the upcoming Queens/Saints game on the Twin Cities news EVERY FRICKEN' NIGHT this week. Geez- you'd think they haven't had much success in the playoffs. Oh, wait... that's right, they haven't. Anyway, I digress... on tonight's broadcast (before I switched the channel and threw up in my mouth a little) they played a clip of Brent saying that "people forget that I was in the Super Bowl." This is what I get for actually being a Cowboys fan for a week? Well that's the last time THAT'S going to happen. Now we get to see if the Saints can finally seal the deal and make the Super Bowl. No offense to the Lions and Falcons, but this is a matchup of two of the most historically pathetic teams in the NFC. Makes one wonder how this weekend would be shaping up if Thompson would have hired Sean Payton and simply benched Favre for Rodgers.
