Wow! I though football season ended 9 days ago.

Where do you even begin?. Everyone I am sure has something about it that will drive them crazy.

Future is beyond bright but it hurts. We did not show up today and play, no excuses.

Only bright spots and they were too few were Bishops hits, The way Starks ran .( He is what we need more of in a runner, someone who does not always run right into people and hope for the best) and of course Driver showing the other guys how to CATCH anything thrown your way,

What was most hard to take was lack of urgency. Noone seemed to want to tackle as if their lives depended on it, Hold the ball the same way. And this AFTER the Giants were poking at the ball all game!!!

One thing I never want to see again other than the way the DB gave up the hail Mary)is a Grant run or Finley drop. Grant either runs like the first play (and not often enoug) or straight right into the tacklers!!

Offseason plan number 1: Either drop Grant or make him watch over and over old Jim Brown film and learn how to run hard and look to hit people first, instead of waiting for tacklers to come and let them strip ball from him, We had a chance even after all the mistakes but that was the proverbial final nail in the end !

What a crappy game. Dropped passes? Fumbles? We gave up a hail mary for God's sake? We sucked the entire game. One way or another this team was not mentally into it.

I don't even blame McCarthy. He could see it, but there was nothing he could do. We were a step slow all game long. I think he had damn good ideas in the onside kick and going for that 4th down. Anything to wake them up. Maybe it was the rust from the rest. Maybe they were all freaked out by the Philbin tragedy. Don't know. But this was by far the worst performance of the year at the worst possible time.

Now, we have to do something with this excuse for a defense. We need D linemen. We need a ROLB. We need to replace Charlie Peprah with anybody.

But we still have the best QB in the league, and we'll be back. The march to Super Bowl 47 begins.

The lack of defense concerned us all year but we hoped against hope that there would be a post-season spark. On the positive side - 15 wins still made a great season.

Mike Holmgren had a class for the players to help them transition to life after football.... I wonder if there are any of the notes left to share with us. Winter just got a little longer.

Rodgers was in no way at fault. He tried his best, but the WRs were rusty from sitting two weeks when they should have been out there against the kitties in Week 17. Poor guy looked like Tom Brady last season trying in vain to throw and all of his receivers were covered by the Jets. We also probably underestimated the Giants and didn't try hard enough. They were not only motivated, but as an outdoor cold weather team they had no problems playing here.

One other thing I hadn't seen mentioned in the comments so far. Did anyone else notice the disturbingly high amount of blue in the stands? It looked like at least 30% of the crowd were Giants fans. In fact, there were more there than in 07.

....still sick over what I saw last night....stunned...and now I read reports today that Driver may not be back next year....can this get any worse?? Driver's played his entire career here, and plays his heart out each and every time he's on the field...I hope the front office doesn't give him the boot just because his numbers are down now that there are new receivers to share the workload...that isn't a reflection on his abilities and what he does for this team.

Now to prepare for the lonnnng summer....sigh...

WOW, what an underwhelming performance........starting with the positive I have to say Driver is awesome, the slant catch for a needed 1st down and the late touchdown when the game was really getting ugly was great but what I really appreciated about both of those plays was the way he passed on the celebrations.......

I have always thought it was pure ignorance (not to mention self serving and completely out of touch with reality) when players celebrate when their team is getting their asses handed to them. the offensive line did a decent job of keeping Rodgers upright (the run blocking needs alot of off season work though) there was a hint of what our running game could be next season and the defense did knock manning on his ass a few times where I was surprised to see him get back up. that being said.......

I've given up on defending finley for his less than mediocre play, the dude needs to just shut his mouth and make use of the talent that we all know he has (but apparently refuses to use on game day) Rodgers had probably the worst game of his albeit short career (it was cool to see him running for first downs instead of sliding and I'm not worried at all about him next season as I'm sure he is pissed and will take it out on the secondaries of everybody next year........

bend don't break is a bullshit excuse for trying for the glory of the individual getting a turnover instead of solid coverage and tackling so I don't want to hear that crap anymore about the turnover ratio while giving up miles of yardage (and it sure looked to me like we lost the turnover battle yesterday) all in all just a sad day wasting the #1 seed and home field for the nfc championship and with seeing how weak the AFC is this year for sure back to back superbowl wins........

now I get to hear it from these dumbass niner fans for at least another week.......... Let's hear it for the superbowl 47 champion Green Bay Packers........GO PACK GO!!!!!!!!!

As Vince Lombardi use to say "nobody wins every game". During the regular season every team has a bad game. Sunday against the Giants was a wrong time for our beloved Packers to have a bad game. We enjoyed more highs than lows this season but our season has come it a quick end, one and done.

Changes are surely coming to the team that played Sunday. Donald Driver was ready to play and had a good game, I'm glad he scored a touchdown in what was probably his last game in a Packer uniform, he's a pro's pro and has been a class act for the young guys to follow.

Finley on the other hand I just don't know, so much talent but too many mistakes, dropped balls changes to his route. This weekend showed how big of an impact a tightend can have in the game. Finley's play didn't match the play of Jimmy Graham, Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez or Vernon Davis. Finley just seems to be too immature, too much look at me and not enough watch how we win. There's a big decision for Thompson coming on Finley. I say put the Franchise Tag on him and see what happens next year but if a long term contract is worked out structure it so if Finley doesn't grow out of his present behaviors the tie can be cut. Too bad Quarless hurt his nee so bad at the end of the season.

Chad Clifton looks like he will not be back next year, thanks for the memories.

What a difference a year made in A.J. Hawk's play! He never was much more than steady but he quickly turned into a liability this season. Time to part ways.

The 2011 Packer defense lacked something in all but one game this year and ultimately ended a chance for another championship. So if there's anyone still wondering about the old adage "Defense Wins Championships" look at which teams are playing for their Division Championships. New England is the only poor defense playing, they have Brady and Belichick the guys with best experience at hiding warts and finding holes.

Hopefully Thompson and staff can find some D-lineman and Outside Linebacker with pass ability in the draft. A cornerback and safety are needed as well. For that matter maybe a hard evaluation on this year's defensive players needs to be done. Seems the "D" got slow and old over night.

You've got to wonder how many Coaches will be moving up and onward from McCarthy's staff. The passing of Joe Philbin's son was a tragedy and possibly affected the Team's play against the Giants. Sometimes change is good and some fresh ideas on the defense certainly couldn't hurt.

All said and done 2011 was a great year for Packer Fans let's hope for a better 2012 season.

This game was lost before the teams stepped on the field.....I formed that opinion after hearing B.J. Raji call the Giants O-line "soft" to the national media. B.J. is a very good player, or more specifically, can be when he has his head on straight and is hungry to win football games. All season long, B.J. mocked opposition, and referred to their Champion status to anyone who would listen.

That was last year, B.J.!

Young teams are nice as they never lack for enthusiasm, but they hurt when they lack dedication. This team, in some important ways, lacked dedication to this season....figuring it was theirs to have, they spent last years capital instead of investing in this year's journey.

Sam Shields...last year an up and coming star. This year, nowhere to be found when it mattered.

Charlie Peprah....you can use your arms to tackle!

Erik Walden.......Houdini never disappeared this swiftly.

Jermichael Finley....you just played your way out of a huge payday. I can cite 6 TEs that make you look below average.

There are more, but this is enough.

Last year, young and hungry. This year young and with heads in clouds.

Let's hope the hunger returns, and that TT spends the majority of his draft on defense....and that he drafts guys who realize you can use their arms to tackle instead of pinballing off the opposition.

Defense wins championships ! Worst defense in the league and 3rd best offense just didn't do it this season. Plus the long layoff for Rodgers and taking the last game of the season as a vacation day didn't help either. In Lombardi's day that would have been unheard of. Wasted season. Squandered home field with a one and out showing. Very disappointing ! Would have rather lost during the run last season. To be beaten by a team that you've beaten once and are clearly better than bring back shades of 2007 !

A lot of prognosticators are pointing out that New York gave Green Bay a good game the last time these 2 teams met (in New Jersey) which resulted in a late comeback win for Aaron Rodgers and the Packer offense. I just don't see how that game has relevance for today's game at Lambeau Field. The Packers are at home, they will play better, and eventual out-score (that's all that matters) the Giants and wait for next week's playoff game.

Just how do you follow in the footsteps of a legend? You can't, or you don't. The only way is to chart your own course, as Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers have proved over the last four National Football League seasons.

The time has come for Indian cricket to take some huge decisions, to say goodbye to a golden age and to usher in a new one whose early days are likely to be difficult.

It is not a call that can be delayed...

Bar-tip goes to Manas from The Joynt who happened to mention the other night what was going on with the Indian Cricket team... and speaking of The Joynt down on Water St. in Eau Claire. Packers Upset Favored Lions 45-41

With thanks to backup QB Matt Flynn's 6 TD 480 yards (both are Packer franchise records) passing performance, the Green Bay Packers were able to pull the upset on the favored Detroit Lions with a late 4th quarter comeback in a thrilling 45-41 win at Lambeau Field.

The Packers finish the season with a 15-1 record, as the 1st seed in the NFC Playoffs get to take this week's playoff action off, and then wait to host their upcoming playoff opponent which will be one of the following three teams, the 4th seed New York Giants, 5th seed Atlanta Falcons, or that "dirtbag outfit" (just quoting Wayne Larrivee and Larry McCarren from the Packers Radio broadcast) the 6th seed Detroit Lions on Sunday January 15th, at 3:30pm CST.

Hat-tip to Packers WR Jordy Nelson for his 9 catch 162 yard 3 TD performance, and a special shout-out to the old-man of the Packers WR's - Donald Driver - for taking a catch over the middle and turning up the field through the "gutless Detroit defense" (just quoting Wayne and Larry again) for a 35 yard TD reception.

Packers Blast duh Bears 35-21
Secure 1st Seed in the NFC Playoffs

Yo Ho Ho! The Packers have the home-field advantage through-out the NFC Playoffs after beating down duh Bears in a near blow-out win that gives the Pack the 1st seed in the upcoming playoffs. Yeah, duh Bears were a little under-manned, but presented no match to the now 14-1 Green Bay Packers.

So the 2011 NFL Season has come down to one more home game against Detroit, more than likely joining San Francisco in a week off, and then another home game against either New Orleans, Atlanta, Detroit, Dallas or New York depending on how the rest of the seedings fall into place. Last year it was the 3-on-the-road to make it to the Super Bowl, this year the path could be easier with 2-at-home to qualify. Go Pack Go!!!

Hey Chica, that's awesome, like a cat in a Packers hat wouldn't win in any state, none the less, congrats to you and Riley - now that's completely unlike my cat who almost won something once, but he lost points for drinking a Heineken and then falling asleep on the couch before being presented and judged. At least he finished his cigarette before passing out.

We lost a game, so the pressure of perfection is off. We'll be better off for it. And then Rodgers goes to 7-2 against Duh Bums. Gotta love that.

Time to rest some guys. I don't even care if the Lions win and get their third 11-win season since they relocated to Detroit from some hell-hole called Portsmouth, OH, some 700 years ago. The Lions can enjoy a little fun before the whole place goes up in flames around them.

It's amazing to me that as ugly as the Pack played in the first half, they still had a 14-3 lead at the half. This is what makes them winners. Not rush yards or time of possesion or any other stats except the numbers on the scoreboard. And then they just took the game over in the 3rd quarter. How much fun it is to watch the Pack win this year. I just found out this morning, that I am a part owner in the Packers franchise. The best gift I have ever received. It's my Red Ryder BB gun. Merry Christmas Packer fans everywhere!

A perfect season wasn't happening in reality and I knew the Chiefs were a trap game. Sooo now the Loins made it into the playoffs. *clap*clap*clap*clap* We shouldn't have to deal with them in January (I don't think) because I don't see an inexperienced team like that getting past the winner of the NFCE or South. Most likely we get SF or NO or the Cowboys/Giants in the divisional round. And we never lose home playoff games except when Brett Favre chokes, and he's no longer there to choke. Our crap D is the only real concern I have.

For now anyway, we got da Bears at home. Doesn't mean much for us except seeding, but they'll still try to win and keep their faint playoff shot alive.

And then we end the season playing the kitties. We may still be competing with Frisco for the #1 seed and they may still be trying for the #5. But I think it's more likely both teams rest their starters.

Q: Are duh Chicago Bears going to win today in Green Bay against the Packers?

One would think that after last week's near embarrassment (I can give some credit to the Chiefs Defense) in Kansas City that the Packers ripe for the pickin' by duh Bears. You would think wrong. One might think that the Packers have a weakened offensive line that could be exploited by duh Bears defensive line. But again, you would be wrong. TJ Lang played most of last year as the Right Tackle and well, it's duh Bears, and the Packers are looking to clinch the 1st seed and home field advantage through-out the NFC Playoffs. Look for the Packers to shine.

Last time these 2 teams met at Soldier Field, duh Bears made it look closer than it really was in losing by 10 points. Today in historic Lambeau Field, the Packers will once again strike fear unto duh Bears and into the rest of the NFC playoff contenders... Packers stomp on duh Bears 31-12 and throw their carcasses down in front of the green-n-gold fireplace to where all good rugs and door-mats belong. Go Pack Go! Start The Playoff Roll! Go Pack Go! All Aboard...
