Speak Out Spew Off...
 So heading into this weekend and with the Packers vs. Eagles game coming up on Monday Night ESPN Football, I'm looking for ways that the Packers can win in Philadelphia. First off, it's a road game, then you notice it's a night road game, hmmmmmmmmm, not good. It's rare for the Packers to play well on the road in late games, hell, they didn't even show up to start the season at home against Duh Bears. What makes a betting man think they might take the road win in Michigan against the Lions and parlay that into momentum that can lead them to a win in Pennsylvania against the Eagles. It will take an alignment of stars to lay the groundwork that's for sure, but more importantly it's going to take some brilliant play by the Packers Offense (you can read that as No Turnovers!!!) and the Packers Defense to play twice their best game so far this season along with a smart coaching move or two (or ten) for the Packers to win this game monday night. It leaves one looking at all that gray area between probabilities and possibilities... This current Packers team is not really a young team, it just plays like young team, which right now doesn't give us any certain kind of indication on what to expect, so take your pick, expect the worse or expect the best, just expect the Green Bay Packers. And I live by the BIG LAKE...remember? (Its all about them Direct TV people) Duluth MN TV, they say they are our Local channels. and show the Queens. So be it...we had a blast at that bar. The bar had a 1910 school bell from a school that is no longer there..and they rang that for every Packer gain. HOW FUN WAS THAT!! huh? I still can't hear. I went through that phase the whole off-season right up until the opening of training camp when it started to become obvious that the team's weakest area is the Coaches... but it's now stand and cheer for your team or go home... Been reading all these articles about him and the deal is this. He's playing decent ball. He covering the top receiver on 3rd downs, because Woodson can't if he lines up on his side. Harris is making much less than Woodson and I don't blame him for being irritated!! You can say he should have never signed that contract.... sure. You probably should say they should have never paid that for Woodson... I will say the Pack fucked this up.... and now they need to fix it somehow. They've paid Harris too little and Woodson too much. You have to know a little about human nature and what will happen if the big money guy doesn't succeed.... cause even if it's a janitor, the guy making several $/hr. less isn't going to bust his ass to out work the other guy. Pack fucked this up, now they need to fix it. I'm getting tired of losing good players because personnel can't get their shit together!!! Long Live the Pack!!! I think the same type of thing was happening with our WR position last year... Robert Ferguson was the highest paid WR though 3rd on talent depth list, it cost the team Javon Walker and then the Packers to their credit, gave Donald Driver his contract upgrade to correct the mis-adjustment. It's now a different era and the Packers management is going to have to jump through hoops to keep its players happy or... well, put it this way, we don't have a Reggie White type player to bring the other high talent players in here to play for us. ________________________  Hi, I'm a fan of the site. Spec. Teams (89-94), DB coach (95-98), Def. Co. (99-01) (his defense had a good year once where they forced a lot of turnovers and returned for alot of TD's, etc.). 2001 Redskins DC. 2002 Detroit DC. 2004 GB DB coach. Then this year too in GB (because he did such a wonderful job in 04 I guess) and I'm not sure where he was 03. I'm thinking the Redskins wanted upgrading. Looks like from the game Sunday, they still haven't recovered from him being in Detroit and then he's fired here two years ago.... so we bring him back. As you can see, nothing stands out from his bio. Just hope they don't become OK and all the people now that would like to see him gone, stop writing in about it. We can't settle for OK, when we want more!!! And too, I'm not impressed at all with McCarthy's bio either,,,,but he's hand picked by TT, and I am with his!!! Interesting stat I found reading articles..... before the last two games Favre was 6TD's and 23 INT's in the last 11 games. And had more TD's in a game than INT's in nearly a year.  We are no longer the worst team in the league!!! Woo hoo!!! I was really starting to reach the boiling point on these pre-game prognosticators from Detroit. "The Lions are playing one of the worst teams in the NFL this week...", crap like that, all over everywhere. We get a reprieve on that designation for awhile, as the Packers outlast the Lions 31-24 in a game that sounds close, but take away those 2 fumbles by Ahman Green at the end and Noah Herron before halftime and it might have been closer to a blow-out. Big road win for the Pack, big division win, and the first of many more to come.Now the Eagles have started to look much better than their injury-plagued, T.O. ruined season from last year. All it took was a big-time WR Dante Stallworth to come in and the Eagles went from pathetic to contender. We can play them tough, we have in Philly before, but it will show if the Packers can at least be pretenders, in the race for the division crown. Go Pack! BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life! _____________________________ I Just got off work and ran home half expecting more bad news on our season.To my elation we are winners!!!31-24 I'll take it!!! Blitz Beer Banned...
 Report: Fans at Lambeau are less behaved when the Packers lose.AP - GREEN BAY, Wis. - About 50 percent more people are arrested on average at Lambeau Field when the Green Bay Packers lose than when they win, according to a newspaper analysis. The Green Bay Press-Gazette analyzed arrests from 94 of the 107 games at Lambeau Field between August 1996 and January 2006, including pre- and post-season play. (Arrest data was not available on 13 games.) The newspaper found that when the team wins, they are an average of 5.8 people arrested, compared to 9.08 when they lose. Al Timmerman, retired Green Bay Police operations commander who said the difference is tied directly to the mood of the crowd. "When the Packers lost, the fans drank more and they became more unruly and it goes along with the way the game goes," Timmerman said. "When the team is losing and they're down, everyone is down in the dumps and the beer was flowing a little bit better." |

 Joe T from Illinois has finally done something that hasn't happened in 20 years (turning my stomach happens everyday without Joe's help)... He's forcing me to root for the Vikqueens over the Bears this week up in Minneapolis. Yeah I know, earth-shattering. I've always wanted the Bears to beat the Vikes every year, so let me explain, being from western Wisconsin has left me with a sour taste regarding the Vikes as the Pack's bitter rival. We didn't have any of that FIB tourist flood that GB/Door County gets every summer, just kids "from the other end of the block" that showed up in purple every once in awhile - mostly during fair weather. I'm an anomaly, I don't hate the Bears 2nd to my passion for loving the Pack (it's 3rd or 4th). The Vikes losing are the close 2nd to the Packers winning!!! I want the Vikqueens to lose every day, every Sunday, but Joe T has turned my mood (and my stomach) this week, and I'd rather go against 20 years of precedent and see the Vikes at 3-0 than the Bears, just to shut a Bears Troll up. It's tough being Pack 4 Life!I should talk about the Packers at least a little bit... we'll see how well Koren Robinson plays when the 3 or 4 WR sets take the field against the Lions. The Pack don't often win in Detroit, but this week we have a great chance for the new coaching regime to get their first win. The Lions might suck worse than us. However, it always comes down to how Brett plays... and he doesn't always play so well on the road, especially inside domes, so the effort of those around him will be more important this week than usual. I'd love to see the same lopsided run-pass ratio as last week, against the Lions defense, 55 pass attempts would give the Packers 49 points. Go Pack! BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life! _________________________________ Wow - I haven't checked in for a while man. That Joe is pretty riled up. He's a fantastic speller too. It's such a pleasure to read through his poetic musings. I wonder if he's still pissed about the time Favre opened up Monday Night Football in Chicago with an 80 yard pass for a TD? That's probably it. I'd be pissed too. I'd get over it though. In fact, I'd already forgotten about the Chicago game in week one. I guess cause once the L or W is on the board, the number stops mattering so much. The score only matters for 60 minutes. I guess I also don't understand what he's saying about the past and now... Everything is the past. He's reveling in the win two weeks ago. That too, is the past sir. So, that said, we're arguing now over the magnitude and glory of what has happened in days gone by. This now begs the question... Is there more glory in having an entire sport's championship named after a coach in one organization's history, or opening a season with an admittedly astounding thrashing of a rival opponent. While the latter is remarkable, I'll take the previous. Let's just all remember. Being a Packer fan isn't about Vikings fans, and Bears fans (and for that matter Lions fans) being fags or goat rapers or whatever. It's about us. It's about the green and gold. It's about living in any city in the nation and running into a fellow Packer fan and knowing that you shared the love for a storied franchise, not the hatred of some other folk who are oddly invisible when their team plays poorly.  This week, I was in a Packer bar where three Saints fans would sing a "way to go Favre" chant every time Brett did something imperfect. I don't know... I'm as competitive as the next guy, but I cheer "for" my team, not "against" the other one. I guess I found it pretty odd though cause that Drew Brees got a pretty big contract to caugh up the ball three times in the first quarter. Brett, however threw for 340 yards and one pick. Beyond that, he's still Brett. I'd rather have him wearing our jersey than any other one. Anybody who hates him and thinks he should retire is just one of those folks who knows he can still walk into their stadium on any given Sunday and do some pretty serious damage. If that's not it, then why bother caring?Just wanted to give everybody something to think about while we wait to watch the momentum-changing game this weekend. GO PACK GO.... Simple. Eloquent. It's an entertaining video, but a bit hookey, but if I am able to talk my I.T. nerd at work to somehow record and download the commercial I would be more than happy to send it on to you to share with Pearl and the masses. This team is only going to get better as the season rolls along. Yes, they are going to lose games, but sometime around Week 7 things will start to click, they'll win more than they lose the last half of the season and maybe, just maybe, Brett sees promise and comes back for just one more year. Busy, busy, busy...drunk. To assess this teams performance this early is ridiculous and I encourage those fans from MN and IL to blabber their senseless hopes...that fall from grace makes it that much more pleasurable for me and more painful for them. Living in the midst of the house of cards known as the Vi-queens, I have taken wager that our beloved team will finish  with an equal or better record and with some luck we will challenge our shit on thy neighbors to the south. But I digress in speaking of our foes.I am encouraged that our soon to be 37 year old QB has got some in the tank. Ahman is running as well as to be expected behind a kid OL (Thanks be to Mike) and the WRs are solid. I have to see improvement from the Defense...to this point I expected them to be more ahead of the Offense. Everyone will continue to get better that is what young, inexperienced players of such caliber will do and when they do...we will patrol the frozen NFC North once again. I think I predicted 9-7 at the beginning of the year, I see us at 8-8 right now. Young team, new head coach and system and to say those forbidden words... we are retooling. I maintain faith in TT; after all he does have a track record of doing this before. And with a little Irish luck we might compete for this crappy division. Drinks are on me fellas!! In 1989, I endured a relentless amount of idiot-speak from the Viqueens 'fans.' From that year on, I relished a Viqueens loss as much as a Packer win. I now live in the Chicago area (near Batavia), and am enduring similar idiot-speak from Bears fans. I guess a dozen or so years of losing to the same team does that to them....Anyway, I too, will be donning a purple stripe on my Packer gear this Sunday. Are the Bears a talented football team? Yes they are. But, that being said (quoth Mike North), they have played 2 F*CKING GAMES, beating two of the least talented teams in the NFL. Yep, pack your bags for Miami. How about if Grossman makes it through at least HALF of the regular season games before we start talking pro bowl? I think they like it when the players play a WHOLE SEASON to select pro bowlers.Packer fandom is about being part of a great group of fun-loving people. I attended a Bears preseason game vs. the Browns in 2000. As I stood in line in front of the trough to releive myself, a chant of 'Favre sucks' started in the men's room. What? I guess they are still upset about all of those passing records that Favre holds at Soldier Field. Go Pack - The Bears Still Suck!  You can bitch and you can moan and question every decision ever made by this Packer GM and Coach or any other Packer GM and Coach, and any move made by any player, and you can go on and on and on about it forever, but you can't step back and you can't step off. You ride this Green and Gold wagon through the dismal losses and the freezing wins year after year. | Just a quick note before heading off to the Bar to watch the game today, the Packers may finally get their first win today. Oh there's almost no chance that we will get the same kind of game as the last time the Saints came to town. The Pack is playing a team more to our level of talent (thanks to our GM) so there's a good chance of a competitive game today. So I'll just throw it out there that the Pack will get a 4th quarter comeback touchdown from Brett and will edge the Saints 23-19.  GM Ted Thompson has gone out and placed his tarnished repuation just a little more on the line by signing troubled WR Koren Robinson. K-Rob is a big fast reciever who should be able to help the Packers (if he can stay sober and out of trouble with the law) at an undermanned WR position. Now we know why Ted cut down to 4 WR's, he was waiting until after the 1st game to sign K-Rob. This will lessen any liabilities that the Packers will have towards his salary this year, and I'm sure that there is all kinds of contract language protecting the Pack in case Koren Robinson goes off the deepend again.I like this move, I really do. F.Y.Finger Award Goes To...
 Due to the miscalculation of gazing at the Green Bay Packer Organization and seeing a NFC Division Crown awaiting the Packers... We're forced to give this week's Fuck You Finger Award to ourselves. For not seeing that GM Ted Thompson would again not address the interior of the Offensive Line, for drafting QB Aaron Rodgers 2 years ago when any other player might have been able to help a team "reload" and gain the playoffs again. By "rebuilding" the Packers in dribs and drabs instead of blowing everyone out the door upon your arrival. If you're going to "Rebuild" then rebuild, don't hide it, that's created a lot of false expectations for us Packer Fans. We also have to give ourselves this FYFinger Award for thinking that Coach Mike McCarthy would be able to coach his way out of wet paper bag. How many of you out there cringed in anticipated horror during that 1st offensive series for the Packers, already trailing 7-0, after 2 Ahman Green runs put us at 3rd and 1, that the Packers would call a run again, instead of play-faking, and with the whole football world, including the Bears defense, knowing exactly that the Pack would run. No gain, no first down, big surprise. How about the QB sneak later in the game on 4th down, when's the last time Brett Favre has done of one those, never, not even with a good offensive line, and we have a poor one this year, again no first down. So, here we stand staring into the mirror while simultaneously whipping us the bird, for our high expectations in believing that this Packer team had somewhere else to go beside the cellar of the NFC North. Speak Out Spew Off...
 So the opening week of the Green Bay Packers 2006 football is about to begin, and luckily for all of us, it's also Packers-Bears week. Which is going to make for a great opening day game. We're stoked here at Packer Palace. BeerScout, during his 30 day trip to Wisconsin, actually found a ticket to attend the game. So Packer Palace should have some great pre-game, game, and post-game party pics. Even with the Beer flowing...But in a week filled with over-hype for the coming NFL Football Season, I find myself just kind of sitting back and waiting expectantly. The Packers are a young team, they're going to make mistakes, and some of those mistakes are going to lose games. It's the nature of the football beast, though, and we'll still stick to our season prediction that the Packers are going to beat the Bears on opening day, they're going to win a few and lose a few during the year, and then with a big win on closing day down in Chicago, that should leave the Packers sitting on top of the NFC North at 9-7 with the Divisional Crown. Go Pack! BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life! ___________________________ I'm sick of it. And tired. I'm sick and tired of hearing how Brett Favre should have retired because of last season. I'm sick and tired of hearing the chant: "29 interceptions!", like that defines his career, past and future. One lousy season! And it was lousy. But nobody seems to have a longer memory than 2005. Like 2004, when he had 30 TDs to only 17 INTs, and a passer rating of 92.4. Or 2003, when his TD-to-INT ratio was almost as good and the Packers were a 4th-and-one play away from the NFC Championship game. (A play, by the way, that would've precluded the infamous 4th-and-29 later.) At least we Pack4Life fans know better that to believe last year is a harbinger of everything to come. The Bears can feign respect for the ol' gunslinger, but I believe they have bought into the "stick-a-fork-in-him" hype, and will be thoroughly embarrassed by the "I've-got-a-point-to-prove" Favre.
